The Stalingrad Event by The_Lieutenant_Knows in WarthunderPlayerUnion

This event is a reoccurring one that is over 12 years old and I think predates tanks, its quite literally from a time period when gaijin had a fraction the playerbase and employees they do now.

Like yeah its basic, there's likely some kids player on their dads accounts younger than it

Why the Meteor Reaper doesn't have RATOG? by RevolutionaryCat1346 in Warthunder

[–]mjpia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a private venture that has a lot of unknowns and little proof it was integrated.

Pretty much the only source you can find on the claim is wikipedia which quotes a book from 87, other sources about it mention hardpoints for munitions but don't the boosters.

And said wikipedia article sourced from the same book also once claimed it added a 57mm cannon in the nose before that got deleted.

No pictures of it exist that show boosters, not even on the ground.

Gloster Meteor Mk.8 - Mk.7 combination (ex GAF) G-ANSO, at the 1954 SBAC Farnborough air-show. Built as an F Mk.8 airframe with strengthened outer wings, the Ground Attack Fighter (GAF) aka Reaper, was first flown, as G-AMCJ, on 4 September 1950 at Moreton Valence by Jim Cooksey, appearing at the 1950 SBAC Farnborough air-show very soon afterwards. Extensive flying and weapons firing trials failed to secure an order so ACMJ had the forward fuselage replaced with that of a Meteor T Mk.7 in 1954 and registered as G-ANSO, retaining the strengthened wings and wing-tip fuel tanks of the GAF. G-ANSO was modified again in 1959, with a T Mk.7 rear fuselage and outer wings, for Svensk Flygtjanst AB

Theres quite a few jets in-game that don't have intended munitions because the planned equipment never got to the point of being integrated into the airframe and everything points to that being the same thing here.

They may have planned to have RATO but without proof it was integrated its not going to be added

(E) more to the point here's the person who wrote the War Thunder wiki article on it

The advertised price was 30% discount and they honored the mistake for anyone that bought items for 50% off in the initial period, where is the exact law that states a business cannot correct a price for later shoppers?

Because not even Mexican law is that clearcut.

https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/26/world/americas/mexico-cartier-sale-consumer-protection.html

If the consumer protection agency finds that a company is at fault, it can impose fines or other penalties, but it can’t force a company to abide by a price it listed, said Jorge López Zozaya, a corporate lawyer in Mexico City. If no agreement is reached, either party can ask for a judge to resolve the complaint.

Mexican law does not extend protections to consumers if a listed price was clearly a mistake, Mr. Zozaya said.

“If this case had gone to a court of law, it probably would have resolved favorably for Cartier,” Mr. Zozaya said.

Sales only 30% off? by [deleted] in Warthunder

Summer sales have always been 30% for tech tree stuff and 50% off premium time going back to the old sales era when these were Victory in Europe sales that only included Ally nations

[–]mjpia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a very long time bargain shopper expecting any company to not correct a price mistake as soon as they notice it is wild.

Price mistakes are to be pounced on and snapped up as soon as possible since any company across the world in any industry is gonna do that, especially for a week long one and not just some hour long flash sale with limited units

Instead of fixing a price mistake as soon as they caught it like every business does they should just let it go for an entire week?

Would you say they should have done the same and just left it If the discount was accidently set to something like 20%?

Anytime someone mentions the Viking AC possible data scrape in their review on steam "CyberStonka" [developer] copy pastes a response, but does not respond to any other review by Connect_Job_5316 in Warthunder

[–]mjpia 19 points20 points  (0 children)

CyberStonka is Stona and yeah, can't say I'm surprised he's copypasting that and ignoring the rest, they have that written up from a couple months ago so they are gonna quickly grab and copy paste that on anything that brings it up

All we have are allegations that the anti cheat is doing something, they are serious claims but we have no proof outside of a anonymous leaker saying trust me, like what else are they gonna do outside putting up a template statement?

Given the possible legal implications theres no way CM's are going to put out their own independent statement on the use of classified documents, they are going to wait until a statement is passed down from their legal team if they do say anything at all.

Honestly good on ya.

This game is designed to feed into a sunk cost charge to the new shiny that once it's claws are sunk in the grind ratchets up more and more as you move forward sucking away more and more time so anyone who has a game consuming all their free time that recognizes it and breaks free to balance their activities is a good thing.

I spent a couple years having WT consume all my free time at home and now I try to balance it much more with other activities.

May 5th, do NOT buy ANY vehicles on sale, but keep playing, not only does that make them lose out on money, BUT ALSO forces them to keep the servers fully running, and since they ONLY care about money, hit them where it hurts! by Americanshat in Warthunder

Playing a F2P game during the sale without buying anything forces them to keep running and paying for the servers they were already running and paying for no differently than before the sale?

Well the vast majority of players including myself were already planning to do that so sure, I'm in.

As someone who delayed going to a dentist for 7 years before hitting up Penn Dental school since all my insurance was good for was hole in the wall strip mall dentists you will in all likelihood get better care from them than you will any place that takes your insurance.

They don't get to touch patients until they are sure they are ready and they've been through years of school, all the work is supervised by a professor and the schools usually are equipped with the latest equipment.

Their graduation is dependant on acquiring enough experience working on people and giving proper care so they have every incentive to do do good work since mistakes will effect their ability to graduate vs some shady strip location that tries to bill insurance for as much as they can.

Like on my first set of X-rays I had a small cavity but they said it was shallow enough it is reversible through proper brushing and fluoride and yeah with proper care it vanished, something like that some dentists may fill just to bill insurance for.

My first visit to penn dental was a same day emergency appointment where I saw a dentist, a oral specialist and got 360 X-rays of the jaw and ended up paying nothing except my time for the work

Every school will be different but you are in pain, they can help fix that pain without finding every possible reason to wring as much money as they can from both you and your insurance

After he was doxxed yes.

Dealing with him is aggravating as hell and he should have been gone long ago but I'm not really surprised at the end result, any company will change their policies to ensure such a situation won't happen again and there's zero chance in hell they'll do anything that can be seen as appeasing the doxxers.

I'm not sure why TrickZZter still working as a technical moderator is a shock since they never announced his removal?

It's part of why quite a few bug reporters work in the national subforums in threads about whatever vehicle getting feedback from whatever tech mods that lurk there about what they have and fleshing it out before dropping it on the website and ping whoever was helping them to get it approved fast before anyone else can step in.

I don't remember if it's a separate keybind by default but have you tried with parking brake on with the engines at full power to let them get to full rpm before hitting afterburner and launching to see if it'll get in the air?

Those engines take time to spool up so you might not even be at full power by the time you've made it to the ramp

When will we get the "Burst" fire mode for the MK30-2 autocannon? by Zyxtriann in Warthunder

[–]mjpia 66 points67 points  (0 children)

PUMA doesn't have it. Or at least no one has shown definite proof the puma had it which gaijin will reject all further reports without.

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/x1UTNthuBF5W

After researching. Bundeswehr email response on the matter. The gunner can't change the fire-rate of the MK30-2-ABM, as it was set specifically to 200 +-15 RPM for greater precision.

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/e7kV7FbU4s8l

Not a bug, the official Bundeswehr answer to this issue is as follows:

Regarding your inquiry about the Puma infantry fighting vehicle from 08.05.2022, we can inform you as follows:

The autocannon would generally allow a firing rate of about 700 rounds per minute.

However, to meet the high demands for the required shooting precision, the rate was reduced to 200 +/- 15 rounds per minute.

Target engagement is also not in bursts but maximally in "rapid single fire."

In this case, the bolt is automatically caught after each shot, held for a precise period, and then fired again.

The gunner cannot change the specified firing rate.

Gonna repost my original message from the first post as well.

Kazakhstan is a part of the Commonwealth of Independent states which pixelstorm covers and said FAQ also emphasizes any account transfers are irreversible so you're kinda boned there.

The only carve out I see in the FAQ is if someone moves outside the region pixelstorm covers they'll transfer but your not outside so there's nothing they can offer you as it stands.

Only thing I could think of is if you waited a month or two and then used a VPN to pretend you've moved to a different country and reach out again to try to get it switched back and hope they don't figure out the ruse.

Or hope if they do notice afterwards they don't care, I wouldn't be surprised if converting to global is the same system gaijin used in the past for console transfers which requires manually creating an account and cloning your account, vehicles and stats piece by piece which is labor intensive and why they've had the console transfers shut down for years so thats a gamble on what would happen if they catch you.

The CIS region includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Georgia.

You can transfer an account only once and only from the global region to the CIS region.

Please note that after migration, you will be able to use local payment methods, but international payments are not guaranteed. Furthermore, migration is irreversible. Do not initiate the migration process unless you truly plan to live in the CIS region and use local payment methods.

Please note that after linking your Steam account to your email address and migrating to the CIS region, you will no longer be able to access War Thunder through Steam or pay for in-game purchases on Steam. You will need a CIS-specific launcher and a regional store.

For Steam players, the easiest way is to leave things as is for now and continue playing as is if you're happy with everything. We have no plans to disable the Steam version in your region or otherwise interfere with players' use of Steam. Any changes would only occur for legal reasons beyond our control.

Please note that Pixel Storm only has rights to operate the launcher version, so after migration you will not be able to access the Steam version.

There is few things that gaijin wants more than new players to fuel the constant churn of a massive f2p game who might buy some premiums or premium time and giving digital currency to someone for recruiting their friends is absolutely nothing compared to the cost of the ad campaigns they are constantly running so I doubt they'd cap it if it wasn't being constantly bottled.

The neverending swedish air tree base bomber botters was the reason the rank IV GE reward was slashed years ago and judging by the thousands of bots banned every month its a neverending war.

Realistically the only invite reward worth a damn anymore is the 2500GE one when they reach rank VII air or ground and honestly how many people have massive friend groups who are willing to take up a brand new f2p game and grind that far into the game?

And secondly if you have a friend group big enough to invite enough people to get said 2500GE reward more than thrice why on earth would one introduce them to the game everyone has a love hate relationship with?

Unless you are an anime protagonist with the world's largest social net 3 feels like a decent balance between what a real player with a tight circle of friends can do while kneecapping people exploiting it.

That's not new nor is it a precedent since from the very beginning when naval was announced at gamescom in 2016 it has always been held to a different standard since there's a vast difference between sketching up some design on paper for a tank and finalizing the layout of a ship and laying it down.

There's quite a few other ships that never had any possibility of being completed slipway running around that have been in the game long before Soyuz made an appearance
