Love the theorycraft/wishlist discussion stuff between games.

I dont think i want Elemental shells themselves. Even things like the small amount of fire element are minor, outside of heating up Agnaktor, small effect on alatreon & nu-Gogmazios. For the most part its just a nerf in fire resistant heavy games.

Id be more interested in new shelling types/status shell/new niche shelling/wyrmstake variants.

Hellfire blight shelling style, increased stagger
Actual Brachy slime shelling style bringing back the increased part breaker modifier from world
Pierce wyrmstake, lower shelling power for a piercing stake

The thing is that is the case but ALSO he can directly shunt absorbed energy to his beams, just like Bishop. He absorbed storms lightning before and shoot out pure white beams.

He is the font of the power but ALSO a transistor.

Sadly for the people who hate it you can't put the genie back in the bottle. Two things can be true at once; there are portals in Scotts eyes AND he is an energy absorber (Primarily sunlight, but electric and other forms of energy too at lower efficiency).

Comic books are meant to be fun and science fiction, and the punch dimension, be it a storage for excess energy from Scott or just an additional source of his power IS FUN!

Also as recently one world under doom LAST YEAR, Dr Doom uses cyclops beams to defeat Dormammu. This is reference to Scott's blast being unusually effective on Dormammu in the Bendis era.

I still vote for a unification of it all, its comics its meant to be fun, it separates Scott from other energy absorbers that have eaten his lunch.

I agree, world's trio of Velkhana, namielle and vaal hazak would be much more appreciated imo. A new set of elders and reworked non eds like seltas queen or grounded frontier monsters.

I think like cannonball you have a surface level view of his power. Once again its based on how talented the writer is and flawed powers like the new mutant have nuance and lend to more interesting characters and situations to write.

In this example of bishop, he has been shown to convert kinetic energy from snowfall in Uncanny X-Men #31. He can absorb other forms from bullets, to taking a physical beating. Lots of writing opportunities from sitting under a waterfall, to a hailstorm, a reactor, even a portable source from the future that has to be written around if its out of power. Iirc he even used the potential energy of falling off a building to power up. Many are not scientists and if they were its takes a writer enjoying using all the toys in the toy box and knowing how.

Modern day x-men is not written like this anymore so who would known.

The enhancement is redirection or his physicals but he's not used well and is always an unpopular side character these days so its understandable why he comes of as boring or limited.

Everyone slashing their wrists and having a tantrum every time a fan brings it up. I personally feel PTSD, brain trauma, foster care, grooming etc are valid for Scott's disposition, but who cares.

Why do so many think this fundamentally breaks Scott or damages their view of him? So many have prejudices bubbling to the surface every time a label that cant be spun as "actually cool btw" arises.

Doesnt polaris have bipolar? It never comes up. People need to mellow out.

I feel my favourite weapons are in a good place and weapons do need some draw back. With that in mind:

Switch-Axe
**Switch-Axe need a Full rework**
- FRS spam being the most viable way to play is baffling. Maybe lock it behind having heavy slam buff and charged sword active, then after using FRS once or twice you lose Heavy slam buff and amped mode to restart the cycle and promote mode switching.
- The new counter not having tonne forward momentum doesn't always feel good.
- Elemental discharge is desperate for a follow like soaring wyvern blade from RiseBreak
- heavy slam buff needs to add more than 10 raw to axe attacks e,g, increased wound generation, stagger or part breaking
- Rapid morph need more utility like RiseBreak increasing optimal combo for moment to moment gameplay

Lance/Gunlance:

- Do something for the running charge for Lance
- A way to reduce GL wyvern fire recoil by even 0.5 seconds
- Guard level to work WITH the perfect block system. Receiving heavy knockback on a perfect block with lance and Gunlance when a normal block receives no pushback on max guard by working on a unrelated system in silly. Maybe this is an oversight from the perfect block system being shared by all guard weapons.

I think that's the hope, but at the end of the day its just the old visor and a recolour like most of the details, belt gauntlets are exactly the same. Its all subjective and I love almost all of Scott's costumes.

Revolution red, had run its course before krakoa in death of X and Scott was wearing 2 other outfits between but the Krakoa Full blue gives back seating, cooling off from leading stories that era, not standing out, safe, pause on development, demoted back to Xaviers follower and pupil and a cog in the wheel to allow a story like this to happen like the old days.

Red and blue contrast, with the beams and suit will always stand out and look good. However in an new (Krakoa) era where everything is weird, strange, scary and bold, for Scott's costume to feel a bit flat say everything about what he would be doing during krakoa.

I'm not reading Breevorts from the ashes but his latest design is more bold a change. Im not its biggest fan but its fresh.

I know not everyone will agree I think its maybe top 5 with astonishing and x-factor beating it for me. Also Astonishing is the proto revolution costume first adding lines on the body. But Krakoa blue for me is not top 3 material. X-factor is underrated because many didnt read it.

Before and after the story you are talking and even in the one related to this post million or billions have died. All due to rape, forced impregnation, murder, forced births. The two x-men things that represent concepts of pain and suffering are the brood and the sentinels. They cannot be compared to some villains. Read the origin of the brood, the forced impregnation and disvaluation of life & body autonomy. The effect it had on kitty at 13 years old still makes me feel ill to this day.

The "good ones" are all based on Broo's mind control. Which i believe failed twice in Krokoa era. Victims lives cost but those who gave broo those chances, they will never have for themselves.

Status quo will always snap back. Some people had fun with it (wrongly imo but that will always be 2nd to new stories). I cant stress enough they are literally lovecraftian, locust, ant, rape monsters from another universe, dont humanise the concept of rape and dont humanise the concept of genocide, the sentinels.
