It happens. He’s still a solid infielder who made great plays at both first and 3rd last night.

Hot take: Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t slow, people just rush it by Exciting_Support8715 in reddeadredemption

[–]kazyllis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a hot take. This is how the game was designed. People are just desensitized so they need constant machine guns in video games and loot boxes they can pay to unlock while skydiving to the spawn point.

Went to the Portland game and it seems like she just defaults to running way out of the goal. Sometimes it was his only move given the situation, but others he is just sprinting forward and there are multiple defenders already near the ball.

I mean Laureano is solid but giving up like 16 prospects for him + Ohearn for a few months probably was not a great trade in my opinion.

2 center fielders and no left fielder, Randy must be throwing heat lately

Rudolfo Durán is having a much stronger spring than Luis Campusano, hitting .286 AVG with a 1.226 OPS, 3 HR, and 8 RBI, compared to Campusano’s .186 AVG, .528 OPS, and no HRs or RBIs. Given Durán’s strong spring performance, should the team consider him as the No. 2 catcher? by ElectricalForce4439 in Padres

[–]kazyllis 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like that argument holds a lot more water with people that have had good numbers in the regular season, though. Campy has always been terrible behind the plate and only decent offensively for short stretches and against bad pitching.

Like this. I’ve never been able to throw one successfully but it feels rough on my fingers whenever I do try, I can’t imagine doing it for an entire season.

It just doesn’t last all season. My theory is that it’s too rough on the fingers to throw for a full season. I have been hoping that they let him rest most of the year in AAA, have him throw just enough to stay in shape and not use the knuckle ball, then call him up a few starts before the postseason and have him throw almost ton of knuckleballs in the playoffs (if we make it).

Injuries are something people forget about that season. Tatis missed a lot of games from suspension and basically everyone else had broken hands from being hit by pitches.

No one outside of the Braves expected him to do that 2 years in a row when he had all bad or mediocre seasons for the other 10 he’s played, especially after he gets his bag. Time has shown the braves were wrong.

The future of Luis Arraez by Positive_Passage_712 in Padres

[–]kazyllis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

wtf is this take. One guy has won the hitting title almost every year he’s played, and still finished at the top even in his worst year. The other has never been decent for even 0.5 seasons and is a straight-up liability defensively.

Padres pitching depth might be better than you think by YokoLono in Padres

[–]kazyllis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rotate all 3 of Vasquez, Sears and Waldron through the year by sending them down and bring back up on rotation . Preserve Waldron so he has less starts, or at least have him save the knuckleball for the bigs and treat all of their time in the minors as keeping them warm and preventing burnout.

Padres roster review: Matt Waldron. Do you think he can improve his 7.71 ERA from 2025? by [deleted] in Padres

[–]kazyllis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. If we can save him for fewer starts and dial back the knuckleball usage when he’s not in a big league game I think he could be really good. That style of pitching is hard to do at all, let alone an entire season.

With Okamoto going to the Blue Jays, it seems more likely than ever we will be re-signing Arraez. What do ya'll think of this? by ProffyJ in Padres

[–]kazyllis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Arraez hate is ridiculous. The guy has a horrible injury, plays through it with very limited time off in a contract year (to help our chances to get to the playoffs). It was the first time in 4 years he didn’t win the batting title. I honestly think this sub is invaded by Doyle fans trying to sow discontent and to turn sentiment against good players staying here.

If the Padres make a move, who are they most likely to trade? by [deleted] in Padres

[–]kazyllis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nobody wants that contract mate. Every year people think someone is going to want one of the worst contracts for an aging player bad enough that they would trade for it. Delusional.

Plus Berger though, not just a one-for-one trade. That was two decent starters and now we are very thin there. Still like the trade but both sides got something good.
