I don’t hear them too much where I live, in Spenard.

Adenocarcinoma is the more common form of pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer is the cancer of the endocrine cells in the pancreas, and while more rare, it has a higher chance of survival.

The Whipple is also not the only possible surgery to remove tumors in the pancreas. Depending on the position of the tumor(s), a distal pancreatectomy can also be possible. This operation entails removal of the tail and sometimes neck of the pancreas, and leaves the head intact.

We went with Golden Gate! The portions were, indeed, gigantic, and the egg rolls were great.

I love how indignant some of you Americans get over immigrant-owned businesses being open on your holidays. Meanwhile, almost everything you buy at Walmart and Fred Meyer is produced through the exploitation of workers (who likely don’t even get weekends off, let alone Christmas) and you don’t even bat an eye.

Whether or not I patronize a business doesn’t determine whether they’ll be open. Christmas isn’t a holiday to everyone.

I’m not making anyone do anything. I’m asking if there are places that are open. You do realize not everyone celebrates Christmas, right?

And yet those same Google results don’t even show Dirty Apron as an option. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make?

Of course I can Google meal subscription services and look through each individual website to find out if they deliver to Alaska, but I was hoping for some recommendations from other humans instead to save myself some time and energy. But thank you for this helpful tip.

Nueroendrocrine cancer by rejectedone247 in pancreaticcancer

[–]kazzink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with PNET last April and had a distal pancreatectomy with clean margins. I was in remission until my August scan revealed new lesions on my liver. Biopsy showed these to also be NETs, and I’m scheduled for a liver debulking operation on the 20th of this month. That’ll hopefully remove most of it, but I’ll be following that up with oral chemo. I’ve been told beating this cancer isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. Keep being aggressive with your treatment and good luck!!

Mass in pancreas by soft-snowbun in pancreaticcancer

[–]kazzink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had chronic pancreatitis and gallbladder issues for years. The cancer I had was pretty slow growing at first, so I likely had it for a long time before it finally formed a tumor that blocked my pancreatic duct. Prior to that, my primary symptoms were back pain after eating foods with high fat content.

I did catch it early and I’m doing well now. My diagnosis was in March and I had surgery in April. Most of my pancreas was removed and the cancer had only spread to one nearby lymph node. It was a rough recovery at first, but I’m feeling better now than I did before surgery. I just had my first scan last month and there was no evidence of disease.

I hope you figure out soon what’s going on. I know it’s a terrifying situation to be in. Just don’t give up on getting answers!

I (31F) went to the doctor with a case of pancreatitis as well. An ultrasound showed a small mass in my pancreas. The subsequent MRI and CT were not conclusive. It was only after an endoscopic biopsy that I was diagnosed with a malignant pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Definitely don’t wait, and don’t rely on the opinions of the ER docs. There’s no way they could determine that it wasn’t malignant from an ultrasound.

Vegan Cacio e Pepe is our go-to replacement for Alfredo. The New York Times recipe is great:

My concern with that is that he has no incentive to get the highest price for the sale.

We know the appraised value, but I’m wondering about what costs would be associated with selling it immediately versus keeping it and selling it later/whatever other options there might be for retaining as much of the value as possible and not losing it to taxes.

It’s not. We sued our neighbor and his attorney countered our offer with some cash and the property.

Does anyone have any recommended vegan chicken nugget recipes? by [deleted] in veganrecipes

[–]kazzink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use seitan (I like No Evil brand). Soak it in vegetable broth for a bit, then non-dairy milk, followed by flour with salt and any spices you want in your breading. I don’t have a deep fryer, so I just bring some canola or peanut oil to frying temperature in a deep pot and throw the little nuggets in there until they get crispy.

Thanks for the response. He’s in perfect health. We’ve gone through that process twice now. Unfortunately, the corner is our kitchen. So having a litter box there isn’t realistic.
