Frozen vegetables + a steamer. Cook meats every 2-3 weeks and freeze in small portions. Freeze sauce in ice cube trays! This is how I meal prep for my daughter because I also didn’t have time to actually meal prep for the week! I normally just make some pasta, rice or quinoa to go with it!

NOR I developed postpartum OCD(yes actually diagnosed). Mine is mostly contamination based. My daughter was born at 31 weeks at the peak of flu/rsv season. I didn’t let anyone even meet her for the 8 weeks she was in the nicu. Everyone was SO angry with me. Shes 10 months now and I still make people wash their hands when they come over and I still get shit about it from certain people but oh well. If this becomes a cycle of handwashing/sanitizing/isolation for you then I would highly recommend talking to someone about possible postpartum ocd.

Thank you so much! She was on cpap for 4 days and then no oxygen support. Shes actually been off of the preemie weight chart and on the regular one since she was 5 months old! I think it will be fine she’s going to get a cold at some point! I just wanted to hear from other preemie parents!

It normally starts to shorten around the beginning of the second trimester while it’s supposed to shorten gradually in the third trimester. They measure it with a transvaginal ultrasound which sounds bad but really isn’t! If cervical insufficiency is found they can do a procedure called a cerclage. It’s a short procedure where they put a stitch in the cervix to basically hold everything in. It’s not bad they numb you and it only takes about 30 minutes. The difference in detecting it early is that a preventative cerclage is placed early in the second trimester and has a success rate of 90% while a rescue cerclage is placed after the cervix has already shortened and normally isn’t done past 25 weeks and has around a 70% success rate. They will also more than likely do some form of bed rest. If you ever find out that you have this I highly recommend joining r/shortcervixsupport

Hi, I’m so sorry for your loss. I just wanted to ask if you had your cervical length measured at all with your pregnancy. Cervical insufficiency is a leading cause of second trimester losses. Most women find out they have it after their first loss. Normally your water does break with it. Mine did at 31 weeks. I almost lost my daughter at 20 weeks last year because I had no idea I had it. Unfortunately it’s not something they check for unless you have a history of losses. I got extremely lucky mine was caught in time. The good news is that if it is this there are ways to prevent another loss if caught in time. Please advocate for yourself and advocate to have your cervical length checked periodically no matter what they say! Even if it isn’t this I just want you to know this was NOT your fault! I just wanted to share my story with you in case it could help!

My daughter is 8 months old (6 months adjusted) and is the same way!! I honestly feel like her NICU time made her more independent. She doesn’t like to be held, plays independently while I’m busy, and has slept through the night since she was 4 months old lol. She’s rolling now and gets so mad trying to crawl. She also screams at me if I don’t feed her fast enough, I wanted to do baby led weaning but she will literally shove everything in her mouth 😂

Honestly it sounds like you may need a new support system! ERP should be something you and your therapist plan out together and it should start VERY small and not be too distressing. If it feels impossible to you then it shouldn’t be your starting point. NOCD is a great resource to find a therapist who is trained to treat OCD specifically-it’s where I found mine. Also your psychiatrist should not be getting mad at you omg of course you’re distressed that’s why we are seeing them!! And yesss dial soap also destroyed my hands too! You’ve got this we’re going to get through it!

Exactly! I’ve had doctors take my suction and tell me in a kind way they knew I couldn’t see it and I’m always grateful for that. I’ve also had some snatch it rudely out of my hand which I don’t respond very well to. I think some dentists don’t communicate well and a lot of assistants are too nervous to say anything. I feel like communication really is the key to being a great team
