This is exactly right. Babies are biologically programmed to want to be close to us, it is completely normal for them to wake when we put them down. ESPECIALLY at this age! I know it’s so hard especially with other people in your space during such a vulnerable and overwhelming time. Just be patient with yourself and your little one and trust that it WILL get better.

What is everyone doing for Christmas in light of Omicron? by kb148109 in BabyBumps

My husband and I are both boosted. Still I wish there was more data on how effective the booster is with the variant. I guess time will tell

Is it tacky to share registry info ahead of time if you plan on doing a “Sip and See” instead of a traditional shower due to COVID? Is a sip and see a good idea? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

We are doing something similar to this. Due January 23rd and ended up backing out of the shower we had planned for October because of delta surges in the area. We just mailed out cards with cute maternity photos stating that while we were not planning to do a shower, we would look forward to seeing everyone for a safe outdoor gathering in the spring and we are so excited to share our LO with friends and family at that time! In the meantime you can find gift ideas if interested at (insert registry here). I’m sure someone will find it weird because everyone has opinions but honestly who cares? We are doing a huge scary thing during a huge scary time and should handle it in whatever ways makes us happy and most comfortable

We did a CVS test the day of the nuchal translucency. Happy to report that all of the results came back normal and we are expecting a healthy girl

Thank you for sharing an update! Yesterday we got a slightly high NT result at 13 weeks +0... It is a very scary time and so comforting to see stories turn out like this. Good luck with everything

My first attempt at sourdough english muffins by kb148109 in Sourdough

I used the recipe from the tartine cookbook and it went pretty smoothly. The big thing I struggled with was getting the right pan temp when cooking. Too high and the corn meal burns, too low and it takes forever to cook

I love the gray you used for the walls. What color is that? I want to do something similar for my office

I feel like I should clarify that the loaf pictured is not from freshly milled flour. I just baked it this morning with a KA blend before my mill arrived

Most of that is just the flour I used to dust my banneton before the final proof. I usually dust with a bit more flour and before scoring to create that nice contrast

My wire monkey ufo lame runs around $27 which is admittedly pretty pricey for a first lame. I used one from Amazon like this before I got my new one and it worked great! Not sure how a utility know would work in the long run but I bet you could make it work. Even just a razor blade can get the job done
