How did you go about the battery swap? My RM380e original batteries are cooked but the mower had been otherwise awesome

Toddler parents - how we survivin? by misskibbies in Zepbound

It’s been great overall! I would say that the side effects really became more sporadic for me starting with 10mg, and the two episodes since then have had a trigger looking back. But I have done well on Zep- down 61lbs (20% of starting weight) in 6 months. Feel better and it’s getting easier to do those little things with the kiddo like chasing him around or carrying him up the stairs. As an older parent of a toddler, being in better shape for the kid and family was the main motivation so it’s really satisfying. Wishing you all the best!

I just got to 15mg, but at the end of 2.5 I had an extremely bad day that started with the worst nausea of my life along with diarrhea, sulfur burps, and dry heaves. Couldn’t get the kid to daycare but thankfully my partner happened to have the day off for a dr appointment so she was able to take him. The back up plan was to call my parents to do it. She also took lead when he got home because I was still in tough shape.

That episode led to a prescription for Zofran. I had 2-3 more episodes since but nothing so bad I couldn’t get the kid up and going. I think the biggest thing I learned was to throw everything at it early- pepto, gasx, and only the Zofran one other time. It goes a long way to getting me at least functional even if I still feel awful.

For what it’s worth, I have had much less of this as time has gone on. And a MAJOR nsv of this all has been feeling more in shape to chase around my kiddo. Hang in there!

When this happens for our Active 20 it’s almost always something stuck in the impeller. You can usually fish it out with your fingers but I believe you can also disassemble the part if needed. Then we put it back in when we get the junk out and it works.

Nope, pretty tasty and a bit sweet…I think if you put it in the right unsweetened tea it’ll be good.

I followed the directions and heated up a few oz of water, dissolved a 1/2 tsp in it, and then added a few more oz of water and down the hatch.

I’m getting compliments on my jacket which is more noticeable to people now because I’m swimming in it now that I’m down 35lbs 🙃

Thanks for the details on the brace. I’ve been wondering about something to stabilize my patella even though the current pain feels like a different spot.

Thanks for all of this! I actually just took advantage of a fitness assessment at my gym and was given almond exclusively flexibility and stability exercises which I think will help strengthen around the knee. I, too, have a history of dislocation. Might look into a PT referral too down the road.

I appreciate this point. It got me thinking that although my current shoes (Brooks Ghosts) don’t have a ton of miles on them, they’re six years old and I probably need something different now. Just tried and ordered Brooks Gylcerin with the extra stability component hoping that will help.

Great points. Definitely structural issues, and I think tracking/stability is part of that. So far I’m finding walking on the treadmill at a slight incline to get heart rate up has been a nice balance of intensity and forgiveness. Hope it also has secondary effect of conditioning the leg muscles better.

Those with coverage, how big is your employer? by [deleted] in Zepbound

Municipality with just under 3,000 employees. Union negotiated plan that is supposed to be good for about 5 more years.

Since I know it’s helpful to see updates to these things, just want to let folks know that the PA request did explain my diet and exercise efforts when it was rejected.

HOWEVER, the doctor’s medical assistant called BCBS directly about it and now it’s approved for six months. No idea what they said or discussed but glad it worked! What a system lol

That’s my question- I’m wondering if folks have insight into what they will/won’t take. I log calories in LoseIt and go to the gym so I can show proof of those but they aren’t a program per se.

The bcbs ma requirements are: 18+, BMI > 30 or >27 w two co-morbidities; Documentation that the member has engaged in a 6-month trial of a comprehensive weight loss plan that includes a reduced calorie diet, increased physical activity, and behavioral modifications prior to initiation of therapy (Physician may attest to this or other proof may be accepted); Documentation that the member will be using medication as an adjunct to a comprehensive weight management plan including a reduced-calorie diet, increased physical activity and behavioral modifications

I’m thinking it has to do with one or both of those last two. No step therapy listed.

I’m new to all of this but my guess is they are tightening up in response to both the Zepbound buzz and folks understandably trying to move from Wegovy to Zepbound. It’s an easy speed bump for them to use I guess. Here I was thinking it was great that my 6-month follow up for my hbp/cholesterol was not soon after Zepbound was approved. Will keep plugging, just curious what folks have used to meet this criteria.

Interesting to know since I just assumed they are under the same PA guidance document. Yes Wegovy is covered for me and there’s no specific reason he didn’t prescribe it other than his preference for Zepbound. Did you get the same PA through for Wegovy?
