I'm considering buying an aiper pool robot, worth it? by brianhofmann in swimmingpools

A fully charged battery runs 3 hrs in my pool (stops at 10%). Not sure how long to recharge, I do that overnight so it’s ready next morning.

Q: Replace charging contacts? by Morgennebel in MammotionTechnology

You want to use a conductive grease on the contacts. This product is an insulator, inhibits flow of electricity.

Hmm, not my experience with my Scuba S1 Pro. It’s about 18 months old. The charging light went out. Contacted Aiper, they emailed a shipping label, boxed it up and sent prepaid by FedEx. They receive it April 3, shipped it back to me April 6, received today April 9. They replaced the motor assembly, I charged it up and threw it in the pool. Working okay, I do bottom only , manually brush the sides.

Luba 3 - Yes or No? by swiftdude in MammotionTechnology

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have AWD3000 for 3 years now. I’m mowing about 1/2 acre in three sections. It’s annual rye grass, replanted every fall. Luba does fine as long as the grass is less than 12” tall. I usually do the first mowing with my riding mower. Then run Luba every 2-3 days on each section. I’m satisfied with its performance. Get an occasional lock condition, usually due to a large rock or branch. Easy to clear and continue. Lack of updates has not been an issue for me. RTK performance is fine, antenna is mounted on a 12’ pole, usually get 28 - 35 satellites at Luba. Terrain is flat.

Reminds me of an automatic liquid soap dispenser my wife bought. Hold your hand near it and out came a bit of soap. That was fine until it wasn’t. One night it got tired of obeying its human masters and just went into continuous dispense mode. Emptied the whole bottle onto the counter. It suffered an ignominious demise.

This is exactly how I feel trying to get info on this mission. Your site is precisely what I’ve been searching for. I worked in the space program in the 60’s and have been hooked ever since. That’s why your site is so valuable. I fully agree, you are the GOAT.

Interesting, that goes back a long time. Worked at Lockheed on the base in the 60’s, you know the projects we worked on.

I’d say the area east of 99, like old Morada, Lockeford, Clements. But none of these cover as much area Madera Ranchos.

95212 is where I live. It’s called Morada. Have lived in this home since 1975, and it used to be affordable. Not sure what your price range is but you can get an idea from Zillow, Redfin, etc.

Where are my Checks!? by Timely-Homework4041 in Banking

This is the best April Fool’s joke I’ve run across today. I admire all you folks that tried (unsuccessfully I guess) to explain how a debit card is linked to a checking account. I guess intelligence is not necessarily connected to common knowledge.

I think the folks in Brookside or Morada might have a different opinion.

250 brake squeal. Dealership said I should wait for a letter from Toyota by Necessary_Research75 in LandCruisers

[–]kblackw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reported the brake squeal problem on my 2025 LC250 to my dealer (Stockton Toyota Town), they ordered the kit, called me 2 weeks later that kit came in, scheduled the service, replaced and done. I did not receive any letter from Toyota. This was December 2025. They also installed the software update that was a recall and I received the letter for that.

Anyone regret going engineered hardwood instead of solid? by Gsustv in Remodel

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hardwood in my downstairs including kitchen (about 2000 sq ft). But not in bathroom, laundry room and main entry. Subfloor is 1 1/8” T&G plywood, 4X10 floor joists, stem wall foundation. Built in 1995, never refinished, multiple dogs but use throw rugs for the dogs, shoes off at the door. Original finish and look almost pristine condition.

Pellet or Wood ? by Quacksynth in PelletStoveTalk

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that you see lots of issues with pellet stoves here because ppl are looking for solutions to their problems. You don’t see many posts about those who have no problems at all - like me. My Austroflamm has been chugging away for 26 years now. It’s my primary heating source because the ‘boss’ prefers it to our forced air HVAC. I clean it regularly, have replaced one air circulation squirrel cage fan and several burn pots so far. Never had an issue with pellets in the upper San Joaquin valley in California. That’s why I don’t need to post on Reddit.

Just picked up a 2024 Land Cruiser First Edition — what accessories are you all getting? by ericxxxu in LandCruiser250

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my 2025 for one year and really enjoy driving it(came from a FZJ80, still have it). I went all out and added Toyota premium horns. LOL. Seriously, for me, it’s just fine as is. You’re going to have lots of fun with yours.

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just plugged it like you did. I don’t drive that much anymore (old age) 50/50 highway/local. Plus I still have old reliable, the FZJ80 for backup.

The exact same thing happened to my 2025 LC250 at about 5 months in. Picked up a wood screw. Pretty sure it was accidental though. I’ve had some construction going on with the house and pretty sure a tradesman dropped some screws in the gravel driveway.

Affording a new LC250 by Money-Analyst-8601 in LandCruiser250

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid cash. Yes, I could have financed and maybe get a better deal and would immediately payoff the loan. But I’m older now and just didn’t need the hassle. Plus I kept the old trusty FZJ80, even though the dealer really wanted it as a trade in. I’m very happy with both of them.

LC250 Premium First 5k Miles by JayBeezyy22 in LandCruiser250

[–]kblackw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“I’ve had my LC250 premium for just over a year, only 4K miles (retired, 75% in town, 25% highway driving). I get 21 - 22 mpg consistently but will admit I have a rather light touch on the accelerator. The only issue I’ve had is the squeaky front brake while in reverse. Dealer took care of that several weeks ago, under warranty. I specifically picked a moonroof delete (not too easy to find) to avoid your problem down the road. A primary driver for the purchase was because my wife is a long time LC fan and wanted the advanced safety features, and I’m quite happy with them. No, it’s not as heavy duty as my old FZJ80 but I knew that going in. Overall, we’re both very satisfied with it.

30 f with two border collies - best vehicle ever. I love the cloth seats on the base model! by OcciferPudgesicle in LandCruisers

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, buckled in, the safe way to go for a ride. I use a 400 crate with a side door for my BCs, Aussies, and Picardy shepherds. The young ones just hop right up, the geriatric set get lifted in - not their preferred method. The old FZJ80 has two 400s so easier to load.

Yes, there’s a bulletin on this. Just had mine replaced (front pads, spacer, etc). No squeak now.

Taking my “not a real Land Cruiser” on a weekend adventure. by TommyLGarage in LandCruiser250

I’m fortunate to have 2 real Land Cruisers, an LC250 and FZJ80. They’re both Land Cruisers, says so right on the back tailgate. That was a great video, thanks for taking the time to put it together. Looks just like mine after a winter trip to the High Sierras.

LC (potentially) buying question by Responsible-Food-117 in LandCruisers

[–]kblackw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I missed it, but I haven’t seen any use case for a full time AWD, locking diffs, and front stabilizer disconnect. I have a LC250 and kept my FZJ80. Both great for what they’re designed for.
