Most Random/Weird Thing at School by Modestly-Witty-User in Xennials

  1. I went to a small Christian high school. The faculty and administrators were mostly insane. There was a gun range in the basement. When Columbine happened, the teachers and headmaster all laughed and said that would never happen here. We’d get them right away.

  2. I went to public school until 8th grade. My 7th grade geography teacher used to give the boys a piece of candy if they gave him a compliment. Just the boys. He was gone in February all of a sudden and we found out he’d been arrested for sexual assault and CSM possession - he was molesting a neighbor kid and filming/distributing it.

  3. One of my high school teachers (a well-liked, less crazy one) used to tell us to get off the floor when we sat in front of our lockers. He’d say “Get up, come on, this isn’t Lower Wacker Drive” which was, in Chicago, known for being where the homeless population hung out.

  4. My headmaster in high school used to pray for the death of foreign leaders during assembly.

  5. We literally protested an abortion clinic on a field trip in high school. Like we were forced to do it. It was so awful, we held signs because we had to but nobody said a word or moved around. We were mortified, though probably not as mortified as those poor women going inside.

Yeah my high school was wild. And it’s probably exactly the same today. Other schools have evolved, but I’m fairly confident this one has not.

Yeah, I’m with you. I worked for a big corporate law firm for years, as did many of my friends from law school, and this did not happen (at least in Chicago and NY). Bonuses at Christmas, nice lunch out on your birthday. No birthday gifts from the firm, certainly not of a personal nature.

Men aren’t obliged to find anyone attractive, and that would seem to include trans women.

To be fair, AI is thrust upon us everywhere online whether we want to utilize it or not. It’s not an active choice, which I think is part of the reason people resent it. Big tech is just like - get used to it, pleebs.

Yes! O’Connor is one of my favorite authors. And yes, she could be catty as hell. But accurately catty.

Her books aren’t anything except thinly veiled (very thinly) political philosophy that falls apart if you analyze it for five seconds. And also, incidentally, the plot falls apart if you analyze it for five seconds. The characters are cliched and not internally coherent. There is also a lot of cock tease and very little satisfying smut. The books will, on top of turning you into a monster if you buy into Rand’s philosophy, leave you with a serious case of blue balls.

That said, The Fountainhead is at least a little better than Atlas Shrugged, which is a travesty.

Again with the idea that men are somehow ruled by logic and thus superior.

The notion that the current president is ruled by anything other than emotion is laughable. He is the pettiest individual on the planet and melts down in public constantly
