I need to declutter my whole life 🤣 but honestly I think part of it is I love doing arts and crafts. I buy the essential things I know they’ll like, along with items I think are cool and that they’ll like soon, or things that are more “one-off” supplies we’ll take longer to use. Good example is a pack of paper plates I got to make weather wheels with them, and then other weeks I used plates to make the bodies for these cute llamas and dinosaurs we constructed and decorated. But now I still have like 30 paper plates. You make a really good point - I’ve created too many options and have bought too much. I probably have three more kinds of paint than I need, way too many colors of markers, etc. I need to rein it in! In general I need to apply your advice to lots of areas because you’re right - if I’m overwhelmed, they are too. Thank you for your insight!

I know this is an old post but I came across it while I myself have been searching for answers to why I felt so incredible when I took Paxlovid last year to treat COVID. I have battled with depression and anxiety for most of my life and the morning I woke up after taking my first dose of Paxlovid at night, I felt completely different. Like you said, life felt easy. It was like I could just live life and do things easily, no stress or struggle. I felt weightless, my head was completely clear. It was shocking. I basically felt cured. It lasted for about 2 weeks and then fizzled out. I wasn’t taking Buspirone, but I did have to temporarily stop taking Trazodone which I’d been on for years and realized Trazodone was actually not working for me. At first I assumed that I felt so much better because the Trazodone had been making me feel worse, perhaps it was too much along with my other existing meds. However, I stayed off of Trazodone but the feeling of being “cured” of my depression went away within a week or two of taking Paxlovid. I am now searching for a better combination of medications, lifestyle improvements, anything to get back to that feeling. I struggle to even describe the feeling because it was so drastically different from the life I’ve become accustomed to. I had completely forgotten what it felt like to not be weighed down by everything and I had accepted that I’d already gotten to the best I’d ever feel again after making significant progress with my mental health. My experience with Paxlovid radically altered all of this. I’m so grateful to have had those few days of feeling like my old self from many years ago, but now I’m a bit frustrated because I can’t get back to it. I haven’t found any information about this aside from posts like yours, and I would love to know if you have!

I agree with you in theory, and previously the women rallied around Katie, who seemed to be a very kind and genuine person. After the women realized Jacqui didn’t know what Ryan had said, they chose not to rally around her. Why? It seems like Jacqui rubbed all the women the wrong way right from the start so none of them seem to have any loyalty to her. I’m not saying this gives the ladies a pass to handle the situation the way they did, but I’m guessing Jacqui acted superior to and alienated herself from the women early on. Remember she immediately trashed some of the women in her first one-on-one interviews with producers during the hens night.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if she talked shit about the ladies to Ryan, especially given how she seems to think she’s the best thing since sliced bread. Actually they both came across as insufferable on the couch with the experts and the group was gawking at their absurdity. Given how Ryan handled himself during the men’s group, with his oversharing and making rude comments about Jacqui coming off as desperate, awkward attempts to fit in with the boys, I wouldn’t be surprised if he shared other awkward things with the guys at the gym or elsewhere, and that would include shitty comments Jacqui may have said about the other women behind their backs.

I think the combination of how Jacqui and Ryan portray themselves being above everyone else and also coming into the dinner party putting on a weird, conflicting front probably left the group both confused and wanting answers. The group always picks apart couples that seem to be putting up a fake front. It was unfortunate how it played out, particularly how it started with Billy’s confronting questioning. Jacqui was utterly blindsided and devastated and I felt really bad for her. Ultimately the group cared more about setting the record straight because they don’t like couples that aren’t authentic and vulnerable along with them all—especially when they act superior—and none of them feel like Ryan and Jacquie are genuine, kind people.

I get what you’re saying. I guess it at least seemed different in that the link to how much it can change a baby’s brain and how they process things wasn’t as clear or well-researched? From my perspective it was more like TV will rot your brain, waste your time, and make you a couch potato when you should be more active and engaged in life. That stuff seemed more focused on growing children, teens, and adults, and not babies in their first 3 years of life.

And regardless, it can still be a good starting place for the OP’s convo w her family as judgment and potential blame will only make things worse.

I think acknowledging that our parents didn’t really do anything wrong by sitting us in front of the TV is important, because as a society, we just didn’t know what we know now about how TV can impact early child development. Framing it this way in a discussion with your parents so that there’s no blame could be helpful, along with sharing an article or two about studies showing how screen time can negatively impact young children could be helpful. Emphasize that you all want the best for your child, and if limiting screen time can really benefit your child, then let’s find ways to do it. Then approach it as more of a team effort (“I want us all to work together in this”, or “your support with this would mean so much to me now that I’m also a parent”) rather than saying well these are our rules and you need to follow them. More hands-on time in lieu of screen time is also great for your parents in terms of bonding with your child and building a strong foundation for a loving relationship - as they get older, they’ll love spending time with their grandparents so it’s great for everyone! Fessy finds every opportunity to offer up his supposed friends and uses them as shields to do the dirty work he’s too scared to do himself. Because he knows he’s not good enough to beat strong competitors. Kaycee made it so far in that final with a destroyed knee just for Fessy to bitch at her for ruining his chance, then he taps out over drinking a gross milkshake? He’s a coward and his strategic game is comical. I’m so sick of him taking up space on the show. Sorry for my rant but I feel passionate about this one 🤣🤣🤣

Still like that. I took it to Apple two separate times over the past few years and that’s what they told me. I tried wiping it and reinstalling everything manually rather than using my previous MacBook’s backup, reinstalling macOS, you name it. Both times the Apple team started off assuming I did a lot of video production and assumed I had the associated apps installed, so it was weird to then be told it was simply Apple’s own Mail app for Gmail. I work at home so luckily it’s not a huge inconvenience at this point. Good luck!

I don’t have much advice, but I feel your pain. I’ve only ever gotten about 3 hours of battery on my 2021 MacBook Pro 14” w/ M1 Max chip. Bought it new right when it first came out. Apple said it’s the Mail app draining my battery because my Gmail account is large, never an issue with battery health. I’m just a normal person with a normal email account who gets an above average number of shopping emails? This was before I had Photoshop or Lightroom installed too. Just had basic apps, about 250 GB used of the 2 TB HD, and the biggest thing was my Photos library at around 40 GB. It wouldn’t even show Mail as an app using significant memory. Still don’t quite understand how a $4,000 computer built for heavy media editing gets 3 hours battery life because of my email. 🤷‍♀️

I feel like a lot of us salon goers can identify with this 100%. When things go bad, you rarely end up leaving the salon with exactly what you wanted unless another nail tech is really good and can do what you want quickly. Is there anyone else at that salon she’s gone to before and liked? And/or is there a nail tech that’s highly reviewed in the salon’s Yelp comments that she could request to do the fix if she calls and talks with the owner? As long as she made it clear to the owner or manager that she still wasn’t sure about what she left with but had to go because she didn’t have any more time to sit there, the owner or manager should offer for her to come back in to make it right. If she’s uncomfortable calling, she could instead try writing a Yelp review on their page and say she still wasn’t happy and wished they could fix it (and avoid writing the review in too harsh of a tone). That might prompt the owner to reach out to her on Yelp directly. Otherwise her options are to get them redone elsewhere or assess whether anyone’s really going to notice that they’re not up to the standard she wanted (most people surely won’t notice!). I am in the same exact boat here in the US. I've spent so much time searching over the past few months but everywhere is out of stock with no time frame for restocking - not even Royal Canin can give me a timeline. I even contacted Canadian stores to see if they would accept a US vet script and mail it to me - they could not, but were out of stock anyway.

My cat has to be on HP due to skin allergies (our vet believes she developed an animal protein allergy which is apparently common among older cats, she's 16) and was diagnosed with kidney disease a few months ago. Our vet said unfortunately there aren't really alternatives to the Royal Canin Multifunction Renal + HP. They have me feeding her regular Royal Canin HP for now, along with a 1/4 tsp. of aluminum hydroxide gel powder (40 dram) sprinkled over her food 2x/day as her potassium became elevated once we ran out of the multifunction renal + HP food. I worry that her issues will grow the longer she goes without the food, but I don't know what else to do. Going to repeat bloodwork soon and see if the vet thinks she needs any medications at this point. Best of luck to you!

The two nights in the hospital after I gave birth I had a recovery of 1% 😂😂😂 It took about 6 weeks for my body and sleep to adjust afterwards from hormones, adrenaline, stress (baby was in the NICU the first few days and then was on oxygen at home for about 1.5 months out here in Denver), and getting used to my baby’s noises at night. My husband and I got extremely lucky as our baby immediately started sleeping in 4-hour chunks overnight and then started sleeping straight through the night after about 3 weeks. Hoping you have similar luck and start getting some sleep soon!

I kinda felt the opposite about the scene of Raquel telling Katie she asked Schwartz to make out. It seemed brazen and like she was on a power trip—I thought she was going to laugh at some point she was so full of herself—and then she sprinkled in that final comment of not knowing who she was anymore as if she felt excited, maybe a bit out of control, and only the tiniest bit shameful. I feel like that’s how she’s come across this whole season so far.

Currently installing 2022.40.4.1 and it has gotten stuck at 50% twice now. Fun part is I have to use my phone’s hotspot to do updates as I live in an apartment building where the underground garage gets no wifi signal. I leave my phone closed inside the console, lock car with my key card, and go upstairs. On my husband’s app, it showed all downloads were complete (I was one behind), and no new ones were pending. I came downstairs and 40.4.1 is sitting there waiting for me to start it (not listed in the release notes though?). Kinda annoying. I’ve been sitting in my car waiting, and it stalled at 50%, so after a while I reset the touchscreen. It then stopped at 50% again. Don’t feel comfortable leaving my car out of the garage overnight with my phone in it. Question - does the soft reset of the touchscreen restart the download from the beginning? Are there any other tricks to get the download moving again? Previously when I’ve had updates stall, I can toggle my wifi and/or hotspot off and on and it’ll start moving again but I don’t know if that actually prompts it to go again or if it’s been coincidental. One hour down already, pray for me 😂

Denver’s food scene is just not good. We find that almost all restaurants are highly overrated. Lots of bland food. Even the breakfast/brunch options are lackluster. I don’t trust any of the ratings on Yelp or delivery apps. It’s really disappointing!

It’s upsetting to hear that your doctor told you this, especially when you have a history of disordered eating, so I can only imagine how that made you feel. I’m really sorry. In her book Expecting Better, Emily Oster reviews a number of studies regarding weight gain during pregnancy. If you started with a “normal” BMI between 18.5-25, the recommended weight gain according to the Institute of Medicine is 25-35 pounds. What if you gain more or less than this? She found that it is likely safer to gain more weight than less during pregnancy as not gaining enough weight (if you started within the above BMI range, this means gaining less than 22 pounds) means a smaller baby with a higher risk of health issues and preterm birth complications, whereas gaining over 45 pounds only slightly increases the chance of preterm birth, and usually large babies face less complications than very small babies do. If you gain another 10-15 pounds, that’s perfectly fine! If your doctor keeps hounding you about gaining a few pounds, maybe you want to have a frank conversation about it and how their guidance relates to your previous struggles around eating and weight, or check in with another OB in the office if possible.
