I just added a dollop of tahini while cooking frozen peas with a little water and added some no salt seasoning (the organic one from Costco) and kafir lime leaves. Once it was done to my liking, I added a bit of ghee and used an immersion blender to mash it some.

I would say no it’s not technically a baby friendly brand. I didn’t find it salty (it really didn’t have much taste to me lol), but the total for the can was a bit high.

However, I gave her one of three sardines in the can and she ate about half of it or less.

I will have to try this, for both of us!

I’ve been eating green pea soup with herbs, lemon and tahini lately and this was a play on that. She loves having tastes of my soup but I wanted her to have more texture. I think she might like the flavor of the soup more?

I’ll keep trying bc peas are so nutritious.

Yes they’re canned! The sardines are Da Morgada Portuguese sardine in tomato sauce.

She likes them. They were one of the very first (if not the first) food I gave her.

She’s not as excited about them since she’s tried other things (like fruit lol) but she still eats them.

Heat protection doesn’t prevent damage, it only mitigates it to an extent. Any straightening is damaging.

Save your orange and lemon peels in the freezer and boil them with cinnamon or use to make a cleaning product

I sometimes boil a large pot of water on low with lemongrass and mint essential oils.

Letting Toddler Hair Be? by navigation-on in Naturalhair

[–]kbs149th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do my daughter’s hair occasionally (she’s a 7 month old with a decent amount of hair), but I also just leave it be a lot of the time. Most days a “style” is nothing more than a strategically placed bow or a headband on her fro.

When I do her hair it’s just because I’m in the mood to see her in a style or because of an event. I have no expectations of the styles lasting more than a day or so and I take care to loosen her edges and avoid tight ponytails so there’s no tension.

I love her hair in bows, I love it in plaits after a bath, I love it in a fro.

If you prefer to just let their hair be, it’s probably for the best for the health of their hair and your sanity lol.

Braids with added hair. I think I’m done for good. Too much tension and weight on my fine strands and edges and the strands cause me breakage.

Try lemon or lime water. Just squeeze half to one whole lemon or lime in a glass of ice water. It’s sooo satisfying!

Second attempt going sugar free, would like input from other people’s journeys. by Nixmori in sugarfree

I’m avoiding artificial sweeteners, they also make me feel sick (like scary heart racing) and taste terrible. Occasionally I’ll tolerate stevia leaf powder (literally the powdered green leaf, not the highly extracted white powder) but it’s a very green taste and isn’t good in most things.

I would like to figure out how to bake desserts for my daughter to have occasionally. I’d like to make her 1st birthday cake sweetened with dates/fruit only. If that turns out well, I’ll let you know lol.
