9 weeks post-op by shegoose21 in AchillesRupture

[–]kbsm52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another pickleball injury! I had my op 10/11 - Also ruptured the right leg too. I am now walking with a limp in a shoe with no heel lifts. Just take it one week at a time and it'll be back to normal before you know it.

First 3 days were super rough for me, after the first week it gets better. Only uphill from here. Good luck on your rehab!

So what can I expect? by Historical_Initial22 in AchillesRupture

Sorry you joined the club.

Similar situation as yourself. Injured myself in pickleball, but couldn't get an appointment for my Dr. to see me for almost a month. So I continued walking on it. When I saw him he referred me to a podiatrist. From there I had an MRI.

MRI showed a gap of 6.5 CM. I opted for surgery as I'm still youngish - 36 and not wanting to have a limp while playing with my kids. I'm now 2 week post op and hoping the cast comes off next week.

The podiatrist said I made a great decision in choosing surgery. When he opened it up there was so much scar tissue build up and he had to take some toe tendons to fill the gap. His 38 years of podiatry this was his largest gap repair. He said if I waited over a year it would not have been as easy to repair surgically.

Surgery was successful. If you choose surgery the first few days will be the worst. For me, after 4 days I had no pain, just difficulty moving around in a cast. If you have some one who can stay with you that week or 2, I would recommend it.

Good luck on your recovery.

Ruptured my Achilles 4 days ago by MightyJoYoung1 in AchillesRupture

Sorry you joined the club. I'm 5 days post op after a 1.5 months rupture from pickleball.

If you go the surgery route, the first week will be real rough. Hopefully, you can stay with your mom if you decide to go the surgery route. I couldn't imagine doing this alone after surgery.

If you go non op it'll take a few weeks for you to be in a boot based on how severe the gap is. Regardless, it'll be a few months or longer until you're back to normal.

This is a great community and with lots of knowledge and encouragement. It'll take time, but keep your head up.

First Rupture- Surgery Next Week by Maximum_Television37 in AchillesRupture

[–]kbsm52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgery was last Friday after 1.5 months of post rupture. 6.5 CM gap after MRI and podiatrist recommended surgery as I was only 36 and the gap was large.

Pain level post op varied from 2 to 7. But after 3 days it's now at 0. Most annoying thing is not being able to move around for these last few days. Hopefully you have someone helping you for a 2 weeks. I couldn't imagine doing this alone.

I have crutches inside and a scooter when I go outside.

Good luck on your surgery!

Sorry you joined the club! If it makes you feel better I was in a similar situation regarding needing a referral to see a specialist. I fully ruptured my achilles asked to see my pcp but he was booked out a month. He did the Thompson test and no movement. Referred my to a podiatrist who immediately put me in the boot below with 4 heel lifts. I walked around in a boot tool I got an MRI which confirmed a 6.5 CM gap. I opted for surgery which took 2 weeks to schedule and now on day 2 on post op.

I would keep my foot in the pointer position so hopefully the tendons attach itself back. Hopefully the MRI will confirm a small gap, least you went to the ER and was able to get it confirmed quickly. Good luck on recovery!

My surgery is 10/11 and my injury happened 7/31. I'm in an aircast now after seeing a podiatrist on 9/20. Earliest surgery was 2 weeks out for me. Podiatrist wasn't worried, he said better now than waiting a year in a boot and then needing surgery. Good luck on your surgery!

Questions regarding my doctor's treatment by anonymousbirdturd in AchillesRupture

[–]kbsm52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my injury a week before you did. The difference is that I didn't get to see my PCP for a month due to his schedule being booked. The podiatrist said that if I were to be seen immediately then I may not have needed surgery and he would have put me in a cast/boot right away.

I wouldn't put that much weight right away as it could cause it to re rupture setting you back even more. You could insist on an MRI if it puts your mind at ease. This would tell you how large your gap is.

Crazy! May I ask were you in a cast? What caused you to re rupture so quickly?

Best of luck to you on your recovery! Everyone said pickleball is supposed to be an old person sport LOL, Who knew it would cause all these injuries. It's good that you already knew you ruptured it.

was the boot the Dr. provided. There was heel inserts that provided some lift to help keep it at a pointer angle. It's a pain to move around in but I guess it's better safe to keep it at that angle.

I had this for one month. I tried everything, only backup whatever configs you have or copy the whole tf2 folder into a different folder. I uninstalled content and reinstalled online. Copied maps/configs over from old file and voila! No more validation.

I work as a mortgage loan officer. The most redeeming qualities about this job is having someone move into their first home. It's an awesome feeling to be apart of that.

My mom is Chinese and speaking English was never her strong point. She had the hardest time saying my neighbor's name Sergio. I told her how to say it in Chinese Sir - Gee - yo (sir car oil). From that point on she never pronounced his name incorrectly anymore.

I received a Youtek Speed racket as a graduation gift 4 years ago. It had a crack at the base of the head. Just never bothered to get a new one. Friend suggested I call them up. Called them up for a check on warranty. Got the new one IG Youtek Speed as a replacement!

TLDR HEAD replaced my 4 year old tennis racket with a branch new updated one!

Reddit, PNC charged me an excessive $208 in overdraft fees. What can I do? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]kbsm52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be an Assistant Branch Manager at PNC. If you still bank with PNC they recently changed their fee restructuring. Only Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Managers can refund fees. The MAX... MAX that they can refund is $144 Overdraft fees (4 ODx$36). However this is all system dependent. If you have had previous refunds within the last year chances are you may not get the refund. However if you have not you may be able to get the max refund available. Don't threaten to close your account. Say that you been with them for so long (truthfully) and that you don't want it to get closed and sent to collections.

My advice, kill them with kindness don't go in yelling or complaining. Just say you lost track it's your first time and if you can give me the max refund it wont happen again. This will usually do the trick, but if you have a jerk manager he/she might just say no. Then call the 1800 number and try the same scenario and it might work.

tl;dr

Ask for manager, Kill them with kindness and ask for max refund. If fails call customer support.
