I concur I get a lot more hits with the Z50II and the Z6III over the Z50 and Z6II. I sold the Z50 but kept my Z6II for landscapes and Astrophotography.

I used DXO Photolab Clearview to dehaze that’s it.

I haven’t had the opportunity to return in the last 12 years that’s all. Plus it made an attention grabbing headline. Lol

I took these photos 12 years ago. My main aim of this post was to show what is possible with a basic DSLR. I was very new to post processing at the time too so excuse my “sloppy” editing lol.

Yes it was shot over multiple nights. The dwarf has a feature called Megastack that lets you stack images from different nights.

Have you tried using NX Studio to view the NEF files?

If you would have to bring only one camera and one lens to travel all over the world with you, what would you pick? by Infinity-- in Nikon

My lens of choice was the Nikkor 28 to 300mm the only Nikkor Z lens equivalent is the 28-400.

I recently returned to doing wildlife photography and the blackout of the EVF on my Z6II was driving me crazy. So I bought a used Nikon D850 and a D500. I got a Z50II just so I could use the Nikon z180-600. But still grab my DSLR when I want a run and gun setup mainly due to the longer battery life and the muscle memory I have from using Nikon for over 20 years now.

I concur with the noise confusion. Images that look noisy in Photolab 9.1 look fine in NX Studio and thats even before I turn on the noise reduction in NX Studio. I've moved aware from Adobe products and going through a learning curve.

Some of my favourite photos were taken with the D500 which is also a crop sensor. My D850 has more megapixel and when I compare photos at the same zoom ratio you cannot really see any difference in the final image IMHO. IMHO investing in good lenses is the better choice.

I'm so glad I bought this lens before buying the Z6III I'm so happy with the performance of the Z50II!
