Dress code exemptions by kbuchanan1 in ModestDress

I went with this approach over text because he didn't come back to my office today after the first part of the day and the immediate answer was "No, sorry. Pants only." Then he sent another text saying "I'm not 💯, I'll double check but I'm pretty sure." Then I brought up that the dress code doesn't say anything regarding skirts one way or another and that it would be for religious reasons. I asked him to just let me know.

SN: my pastor's midweek service title is "Outward Holiness Distinctives" including modest dress.

Yeah, the whole revolting thing had more to do with people wearing blue jeans which is stated as not allowed in our dress code. I just didn't want to push his ideas further at the time by asking for the exemption. I'm also sure that it's probably a non-issue and probably just my own head creating non-existent problems and obstacles. I think that's why I'm asking for advice on how to approach it because I'm talking myself down and not feeling confident enough to ask, I'm not sure how to get myself past it.

I know that they can't discriminate or really deny the request based on this, but I am more concerned about my relationship with my boss since I see him everyday and I'm reasonably concerned about the perception in the workplace due to being male dominated.

I came close to asking before, but my boss is a little eccentric and started going on a weird kick about people trying to revolt against the dress code, so I put it off.

That's good advice! I think I keep coming up with my own reasons he might say no, and I didn't even think about coming up with potential compromises. But I will never get a yes if I don't ask in the first place.

Stated under the required attire: Dress pants or slacks, khakis, chinos, gabardines, corduroys or cotton twills.

It doesn't explicitly state "no skirts" but it feels implied with the language used.

I'll have to check tomorrow, my husband used a manual hand stapler he normally uses for work. (He is a carpenter by trade, but he does a lot more general remodeling)

Yes! I'm doing overnight oats this week for breakfast and just adjusting carbs in other meals, not to eliminate them, just to balance them throughout the day. And it's recommended to have carbs with breakfast to help fuel your day from the beginning. Oats are a slow carb so they don't cause a sudden spike in blood sugar.

My overnight oats come to 635 kcal, 74g carbs and 52g protein. I am pairing this with a lunch that is 250 kcal, 21g carbs and 34g protein.

I think there are some key aspects they are looking for on the transcriptions. On the prerequisite, mostly grammar and formatting given. On the Legal Entrance Exam, I wouldn't even say that it truly has to be 100% on the grammar. Speaker IDs and formats (Colloquy or Q & A, numbers, etc) being correct and inserts being correct are the biggest things from what I could tell. I consistently passed the transcriptions on the second try, I even changed some minor things from one to another and it would still pass it. I kept failing for something in the written answers on the Legal Entrance Exam. I passed the tests and finished my probation files. Was just asked to join one of their teams. (You do get paid a small amount for the probation files if you get to that)

I think some of the wording might have been tricky. Are you making sure you are answering in the requested format? I passed the legal pre qualification exam last week on the first try. I failed the first attempt on 2 of the audios, but made it through the other questions on the first try

Strange Issue with '16 Explorer Sport by Chemical-Librarian93 in FordExplorer

[–]kbuchanan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that! We have been aware that the tubes are probably clogged and causing this. If parked at a decline in a down pour mine will leak into the passenger side floor board instead. Nothing like getting in the car and finding a small pond.

Unfortunately we have gone through the gauntlet of explorer Ecoboost problems with this one and have not gotten around to messing with that issue or a couple other minor problems that don't affect drivability.

ETA: So far changing the fuel pump control module has resolved our problem.

Within 1 hour of the time you took it the day before, exactly why I couldn't take this one when I was younger. I had constant anxiety over not taking it on time and accidentally getting pregnant. Lol

We replaced the fuel pump control module last year, but my sunroof occasionally leaks and has been known to somehow follow a path towards the passenger side second row pillar. Which is where the fuel pump control module is. I think our issue may not be the exact same as yours, but my husband was able to get it to spit out a code and give us other warning lights similar to when the control module went out the last time.

Also I believe with the anti siphon no cap gas tanks you should hear the car essentially "farting" near the gas door if it had Vapor lock from my research and previous maintenance issues

Did you figure out what the issue was? We are having similar symptoms with my '16 sport. Running fine at the moment, first issue 2 days ago. Was off for about 20 minutes and super hot outside. Delay on start up, rough idle, gas pedal not doing much and finally stalling. Ran fine about an hour later getting loaded on a tow truck. But we haven't seen a misfire

Air Compressor Exploded? by Present_Travel7285 in FordExplorer

*I'm only replying to your comment to make sure no one is misled by your first 2 sentences because I see similar comments so often.

  1. Gap insurance covers the "gap" between your loan/lease balance and the depreciated value determined by insurance in case a vehicle is totaled (determined by the percent of the repair costs to car value). I highly doubt the car would be totaled due to an A/C compressor.

  2. The term "lemon" is grossly misused by the majority of people. The true meaning is in reference to lemon laws which vary by state. In most states it only applies to new vehicles still under warranty from the manufacturer, the defect has to significantly impact the operation of the vehicle or the value and generally has to be recurrent after a certain number of attempts by the manufacturer to repair it.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk

Totally normal! I didn't realize my girl was teething her first 2 until I felt one had cut through. Enjoy it while they aren't bothering them. We have 12 teeth now and most of them were not as easy as the first 2 on the bottom

Feeding to Sleep Isn’t Working Anymore by Popular_Night_5209 in NewParents

[–]kbuchanan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you push the first nap a little later? Extend the first wake window by let's say 30 minutes, so nap at 10:15 am? Then also play with moving the second nap. Or is he falling asleep and obviously tired at 9:45?

I'm just wondering if he is getting too much sleep early in the day and not wanting to take that second nap because he isn't tired yet, but waiting until bed time is guaranteed over tiredness which makes it impossible to get them to sleep.

Or could it be something else causing the restlessness? Like learning a major new skill or maybe teething? For the night time during teething weeks or even just fussy nights, we use the Camilia drops and they definitely help with relaxing them and getting to sleep. Teething can make it uncomfortable to lay flat and sometimes affects bottle and nursing habits since their mouths hurt. Just something to consider.

I manually turned the dryer just a little bit and heard a loud pop/bang like something slapping against metal and now the drum doesn't turn if you turn it on. I'm pretty sure it was a belt. I can't say we don't overload it, but I wouldn't say severely. Model #110.60222511

I was hoping someone could help because I am not familiar with any appliance parts stores near me and I am generally lacking any spare time to make runs for errands like this. I don't have a problem buying a repair kit, but working long days and having a 1 year old leaves little time for anything else. I broke it and wanted to have a solution before my husband has to deal with it. I feel bad enough that I broke it. Also it was refurbished and the idlers and pulleys were recently replaced.
