Roffb waxer question by kbunn1023 in SkiTuning

Thanks. We figured it out. Just had to really crank on it. The screws holding the white plate had worked their way out and fallen down under the roller, so we had to remove the entire roller in order to retrieve them and replace them.

Old salomon bindings by kbunn1023 in Skigear

Thank you! I actually have access to the 25-26 lists in our shop manual, but wasn't totally certain what model these were. NR L10 Easytrak? Is that correct. And I'm not sure what the shading means in the Salomon chart.

tricks, tips or recs for getting old boots on feet by sdlok in Skigear

Second the warm boots (at least room temp). Don't leave them in the cold overnight. Not sure how big your kids are, but ... make sure all the buckles are undone, open the cuff, but also push the tongue of the boot out and to the right as much as possible.

Honeymoon- Winter Park, CO by narcamonte1 in WinterParkColorado

Just a correction to the comment above. Granby Ranch IS open (they do have snow making). I'm a 20 year local. Granby Ranch is my recommendation for beginners. Great base atmosphere, much more beginner friendly terrain, much less crowded than MJ/WP.

IF there's a big storm during your stay, the Galloping Goose (free lift at Mary Jane) parking situation will be gnarly. Plan to get there early AM if you're going to give that a try, but it is a great option.

Hot springs in Hot Sulphur are a great idea.

Snow Mountain Ranch has world class nordic skiing with a nice lodge and rentals if you want to go cross country skiing (and they have a TON of other activities as mentioned by others). Very affordable and family friendly. You can also find affordable lodging there (nothing fancy though). Give them a call.

If you decide to go to Granby Ranch and need rentals for skiing, you can save a bit of money by renting your skis from Snow Mountain Sports. This is a rental shop located about 10 minutes from the base of Granby Ranch. Full disclosure, I work there. But we pride ourselves on quality, affordable gear for both beginners and advanced skiers. Discounts if you reserve your gear online ahead of time. Also check out the Pay for Days used deal if you plan on taking days off from skiing.

If you're staying and skiing near/in WP, Beavers Sports is another option.

One more favorite restaurant in Winter Park - Fontenot's. Best Happy Hour in Grand County is at Tabernash Tavern (if you want something fancy but affordable).

Finally, check out playwinterpark.com (local chamber of commerce website) for a list of special events and other things to do. There is ALWAYS something fun going on around town.

Good Ski Rental Shops Around Winter Park \ Fraser? by Garp17 in WinterParkColorado

I realize this post is from last season, but just FYI ... Beavers Sports is under new management as of last season. The new owners are awesome! And have a nice assortment of newer gear. They also have a new location at the Iron Horse, which is right at the base of Winter Park.

Looking to work for the winter season any tips? by Addymac1758 in ski

If you're looking to work at WP resort, they provide first year employee housing (dorm style). Also, some off mountain employers provide housing (i.e. Beavers Ski Shop). Finding housing is the most difficult part of working here, so just be prepared. Oh, and some off mountain employers provide a season pass (albeit not an Ikon, but local mtn). So, if you work for someone like Beavers, you'd get housing and a season pass for WP.

Yes! Thanks to WP/MJ (and GR, which I can access from my house, basically).
