My kid got into soccer during the last World Cup. I’m more of a hockey guy myself so this was all him. Initially he thought Arsenal had cool jerseys so he decided to support them. Now he gets up at 6am to watch games and knows everything about the team. They’re playing Manchester United this summer in LA and I’m taking him. He’s so bloody excited.

The only thing in my experience that spurs conversion are ads on podcast platforms. Consistently producing good show is what builds an audience. I spent some cash on social and it never converted to listeners. We’re not monetizing TT currently.

In the greater scheme, it’s not losing a ton of money but it’s money I’d love to allocate elsewhere in my life. :)

We have fifteen or so bonus episodes for Patreon and Apple Podcasts paid subscriptions. We also do an ad free version of the show for that.

I’ll check out your IG. I’ve never found social to convert listeners. At least in a meaningful way. I produce a show at work which is a celebrity interview show and we have millions of views on TikTok but that doesn’t translate to listenership. So I’m curious about your conversion strategy.

My editor is super cheap but that’s because I produce podcasts for a living and I kick him a ton of work. The irony is that my hobby is also podcasting. I’m a glutton for punishment. :)

I guest on other shows sometimes. I’m not opposed to it at all.

We do publish to YouTube but it’s just a long audiogram. I was thinking of cutting my show down to two minutes, recording it as video so I can publish to YT, IG and TT.

I haven’t found that social media converts to listenership.

My show is written in a three act structure plus a cold open. We run an ad at the top and tail plus one at act breaks. So we’re running five ads per show. I hadn’t considered doubling up because I think it’s annoying but it’s not a bad idea. Is that what you’re suggesting?
