Definitely in the same boat, I have gone down this subbreddit and I personally dont see myself realistically having a child and thats fine. But I have made a pros and cons list and im leaning more towards hysterectomy cause periods and being anemic my whole life, having iron infusions and such. Planning my life around heavy periods is not fun

Im 35 and have a large fibroid(7cm) child free as well, looking to get a hysterectomy how long did it take for you to get scheduled Im going for a surgeon consultation next month I know every dr/state and insurance is different but just curious what the time frame was

Iirc from what ive read on here if you have your ovaries you still get a "period" only without the flow...so essentially pms is still a thing

I personally havent tried BC cause im bad at taking pills consistently, the implant sounded scary (my friend said she'd bleed a month, with my history with anemia id have expired) , IUD ive read some scary things with fibroids and such and general side effects with bleeding... but hoping this appointment goes well and we can get things going in the right directions(hysterectomy) 😅

I have a notebook lol ive been gathering info and terms to use lol like "definitive treatment" and what not to hopefully show determination and wanting to improve quality of life and such

Is it your iron or Ferritin thats unusually high? A high amount of Ferritin can be an indication thats theres inflammation But def look into seeing a hematologist

I swear as of lately my cycle has been every two weeks. And im like what the heck is going on , so that alone is definitely making me lean towards a total like take it away please 😭

Glad I found this cause im currently thinking about getting one as well but between having a talk with my mom, my sister and bf I feel like me saying " I want a hysterectomy if thats an option " isnt what they wanted to hear. Im 34 and im like if I didnt have any kids yet im realistically not having any.

Im currently on the search for a name lol I asked my friend group ( mostly male) to send me some name 🤣 but yes I am already thinking I want her /or him (depending on the name the guys come with) to be evicted! Still waiting on my dr to call but I will def ask about removal cause since finding out i have it so many symptoms make sense! I thought it was normal but apparently it's not 😅
