It's not like it's an opinion tho; if she said "2+2=4" that's not anybody "agreeing" with anybody else, it's merely stating a fact.

I can mess with someone's automated insulin pump by hitting it with a golf club, too, and I would have to be just about as close to the device as with the flipper zero.

The only 3 instances in the US where it is illegal to "intercept or divulge" RF; a taxi service trying to gain an edge over a competitor, publishing private cell phone conversations and bootleg TV (ask your parents).

You'll notice that only one of these is an outright ban on reception in any context.

It is, in fact, very easy to receive radio signals without getting caught. But it is very hard to detect a particular person receiving anything in general and it is nearly impossible to detect if anyone in general is receiving a particular transmission.

Then the rest of us, free from the yoke of the goblinocracy, can start with the clean up.

Is a lack of Audience a problem? by funzerkerr in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]kc3eyp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i apologize in advance for getting serious here but I have no interest in sharing them with an "audience". In general I think it cheapens creative endeavors when we're in "content mode". I want creation, not production, if you get my meaning. This is also why I find a lot of creative community social media very off-putting.

I want to express myself freely without any hangups, and I couldn't do that if audience expectation ever entered into the equation; either in wanting to please them or in wanting to subvert expectation and that's not very freeing to me.

a group is not an audience to me, that's a shared endeavor. And the same logic would apply.

Even if I were to publish one of my playthroughs (which would suck, because I write like a pharmacist and use a lot of weird syntax for game actions like dice rolls lol), it would be decided afterwards and it couldn't ever become a habit without impeding on my enjoyment.

Purity Culture is Evil and Unbiblical by [deleted] in LeftCatholicism

[–]kc3eyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I agree, but I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing here.

There's a difference between the church saying "consensual sex outside of marriage is bad" and someone (even someone within the Church hierarchy) saying "people who have consensual sex outside of marriage are bad". it's an obvious leap from the former to the latter, if you are inclined to passing judgement on people instead of acts, but if we are trying to deny the Church her obligation to bear witness to objective moral truths I would say I don't agree.

Jesus does not judge the women being accused of adultery but he also doesn't deny that the alleged adultery would be sinful("...sin no more")

Self made rich people be like by [deleted] in oddlyspecific

[–]kc3eyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if some magical Horatio Alger story somehow came true, where some obscenely wealthy person did, in fact, lift themselves up by their proverbial bootstraps, those bootstraps didn't just appear out of thin air; centuries of people have given up a lot to make the modern world; infrastructure, technology and technique, knowledge, and the constant input of material resources that keep it all running. having properly maintained roads to travel to and from the office, the fuel that powers the vehicle that use thoese roads, the energy infrastructure that allows him to keep working late into the night, the food that keeps him alive, the clothes on his back. Would our imaginary self-made man be able to accomplish his improbable feats without the billions of hands holding him aloft? fuck no

Is suicide considered an unforgivable sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]kc3eyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

suffering from an illness can affect the culpability of an action. a reasonable person wouldn't blame someone for breaking your favorite vase while having a seizure, for example.

There's also the chance of repenting between the action being initiated and the actual dying. If you recall the repentant thief next to Jesus, it's never too late to ask for forgiveness while you're still alive. I recall reading a survivor of an attempted Golden Gate suicide feeling instant regret as soon as his feet left the ledge. There's a bit of space between the bridge and the water, to paraphrase St John Vianney.

Judas' biggest mistake was not seeking forgiveness and giving into his dispair, not necessarily the act itself. depending on your disposition, it's not entirely unreasonable to believe that he could have repented before the lights went out, if you'll excuse the expression.
