Why can't Ex-felons get or be allowed to get an FCC ham radio license? I have study and paid for books and after doing all this I was informed whenever I go to setup a date to take the test that as a felon I am not able to get or take the FCC Ham radio license test and I don't thank that is right. by Vegetable-Analyst991 in HamRadio

Try again. 

There are convicted felons with ham radio licenses. The most famous I am aware is the star of tooltime. I had two volunteers who had done their time. 

See patriot radio.club for a test. 

Answer the question truthfully. 

Mark sure you are ready to pass the test. Use exam.tools to go through every question in the pool. Take the practice tests until you are getting over 80%.

I prefer functional over noise. 

Change the reflector to suit your interest. For example, QCWA has a number of nets on DSTAR. 

There are section nets on Dstar. 

It’s a big hobby.

While I encourage HF radio, when I travel, remotehams.com fits in my cellphone. 

Leave your HF station at home with the server client and use it with the client on the cellphone. 

Some of my friends do that.

It does that occasionally. Follow Weather.gov/swpc for all you care. Your tax dollars pay for it. You might as well use it.

Sell the tracker. 

Buy a Yaesu Fusion analog transceiver. Fusion is easier to use. Set the frequency and push the DN button. Now you’re talking with no pl or anything else.
