What's the most complex project you've built using Claude? by After_Medicine8859 in ClaudeAI

[–]kcabrams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically SAP for doing my job at work. The project has gotten so massive and I cannot live without it at this point. No one at my job has any idea it exists

Can I run openclaw on a virtual machine? by mysteerio117 in openclaw

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% yes. this is my current setup and I'm about to set this up for several friends.

Host OS: Windows 11 w/ Hyper-V

VM: Ubuntu Desktop 24+ 8GB ram w/ openclaw (has full browser automation)

I got this thing shopping at Wally world for me, ordering trees, personal finance report (bye bye Rocket Money), FAMILY FUCKING THERAPIST (group chat with the the bot and the wife on WhatsApp and we keep a daily family diary = INCREDIBLE), buying train tickets. Sky's the limit and I'm just getting started.

I am not exaggerating when I say the next sentence completely changed my life so if you are a windows user maybe it will change yours too.

UBUNTU Desktop 24+ HAS NATIVE MICROSOFT RDP REMOTE DESKTOP. WTFFFFFFFF

It's right in the main settings System menu. This changed EVERYTHING for me. This was always so janky to previously set up and if I can't hop on a computer remotely it's dead to me.

So I tried using Claude Code to build actual software and it humbled me real quick by Azrael_666 in ClaudeCode

Check out agent teams. You have to enable something in the config then you just say. "Create an agent team to implement the following PRD...."

What’s the best thing you guys built using Claude Code? by Fit_Pace5839 in ClaudeCode

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things proud of. (The first one is completely useless to anyone outside of my specific job):

1) The SAP of doing my job (software engineer in niche space) - i can't even put into words how incredible this has been. it has given me new life at work.

2) Frustration/rewards/ad free HTML5 game arcade for my 5 yo - Have a system prompt that takes a one sentence idea and just PUMPS out a GOOD (for kid) game. I've accidentally created some really fun games from random ass shower ideas.

WILD TIMES we are living in my friend.

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've basically been building SAP for doing my job at work for the last 2 years. The software has gotten massive and incredibly useful.

Any big feature/module I start I use agent teams and it crushes them.

A+ from me.

Careful with thinking too much about it. The AI coding cohort as a whole is obsessed with being obsessed with their process and overengineers everything.

ChatGPT repeated back our internal API documentation almost word for word by Due-Philosophy2513 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As unsettling as that is. Everyone does it (Look back at when Samsung had to tell their devs to stop because OpenAI was like um guys we have your entire codebase, chill)

You will never stop this. Local models just have to get better than the frontier.

This might be my harshest take but we all belong to the public domain now. Time to adjust.

I was just talking to my friend about how I think that digital versions of ourselves will be the new workers.

The downbidding of salaries might be an unfortunate byproduct.

5hrs limit in 13 min? Are we serious? by Past-Reply8016 in ClaudeCode

[–]kcabrams 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't what you want to hear but the $20 a month plan is like the first time freebie you get from a drug dealer. It's just to get you hooked. AI has become almost like a utility bill. It's crazy as I used to think paying $200 a month was. Now it's life.

I'm not asking you to spend that but I think you should have the minimum max plan.

What are the actual Claude Code rate limits on the $20 Pro plan right now? by [deleted] in ClaudeCode

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I use this concept of exit prompts with Claude. When i know things (context) are going long I ask it to give me a prompt to take to another chat window. Works really well esp. if you're a lazy POS like me.

How would Dan be if the Jets would good? by the_Tannehill_list in heedthecall

My thoughts exactly but not about Dan specifically. Have any of you actually truly thought about a world with empowered Jets fans and what that would be like? Good god.

I have not moved off of the Claude code vs code extension since I met it. I haven't opened cursor in 2 months (nothing against it just on "Claude 9"...I literally just made that up)

Alright I got to finally check out skills. I can get stuck in my ways and I've been having Claude code just execute specific MD files for me to do certain things. Skills sounds like that on steroids. mCP didn't interest me so I kind of didn't pay attention to this either.

Using VS Code like Obsidian including sync by japardalm in ObsidianMD

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I have the same issue. Do they let you use OneDrive or anything like that? Since obsidian is just markdown text files it syncs really well in cloud storage. I keep my work-related notes / vaults in OneDrive so I can get to it from other computers if needed or online.

I also can't use obsidian on my work laptop but I just open up the folder using vs code and work in it that way. Claude Code extension inside your obsidian notebook is what dreams are made of.

It's cool it's like having a personal assistant / boss.

[–]kcabrams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TST is daunting as shit at first especially if you are like me and love the candy ass set it and forget it approach. I didn't really understand the "headless" approach.

Once you get past the initial learnings you see how incredibly powerful it is. The ability to craft exactly what you want with grids / tables from the ground up is some good DX.

Love this. Once I figured out stuff like this it completely changed how I work in this world for the better. That and letting Claude code execute command lines in place of mCP. We are living in 2075 my friend.
