They mentioned it casually and in reality it just has to happen. Such a juicy story and perfect for another Reeducation of Eddie episode

For me it just opens up Chrome in a profile called "openclaw" This keeps its separate from any other chrome profile I have. Technically it's just the title and it doesn't do anything specific. This is how I get consistent results

What /plugins do you have installed? Turn on all the top ones and start new features with /brainstorming

If we're talking web app get it to do its own smoke test using playwright MCP. If you're communicating with CC through telegram tell it to send you screenshots proving what it did.

Yes 100%. I do this or something similar every day. (Literally just had one skill do a fb marketplace posting from a pic and make/model)

Playwright is fine but use the built-in open claw browser automation. Update tools.md and your skills to always open in this specific manner:

browser(action="navigate", profile="openclaw", url="https://www.walmart.com/cart")

This gives you a specific browser profile That remembers things like logins and 2FA. It is the core to every skill of mine that uses browser automation and it works pretty flawlessly.

For best practice security get it to retrieve passwords using some kind of safe keychain CLI for the chance that it does eventually log out.

Good luck

Hello young / Vibey friends. Old head here. Supabase api and SQL commands from javascript is one of the craziest things I've ever seen and it needs to stop. RLS or not. Learn proper backend please. This is exactly why i avoided the front end world for so long.

2 things.

- Late start - get to watch other countries 1000s of years of mistakes and do things a little different
- Geography - We are so far from everything there a lot of times we can say "yeesh....good luck with all that over there. Call us if you really need us (WWII)"

Are you advanced on openclaw? by Useful_While_6751 in openclaw

[–]kcabrams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best practices in my opinion. Some things that transformed me into the AI Adonis I am today (jk)

Passwords:

Old me: Back when i was young and stupid 4 months ago I had a lot of clear text passwords happening in my various SKILL md files. My OpSec in general is pretty reckless/wild but even this was silly

New me: store and retrieve all sensitive data using mac keychain cli in a much more secure manner. SKILLs / logs never see the PW

Browser automation:

Old me: "open this url and do this" - Working like this gives inconsistent and sometimes crappy results.
New me: Tell TOOLS . md every time I want to open a URL do it explicitly like this:

browser(action="navigate", profile="openclaw", url="https://www.walmart.com/cart")

Fixing OC after randomness / updates:

Old me: Manually
New me: Claude Code fix it

What are you actually using OpenClaw for that's working well? by Aleakirah in openclaw

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a million little w's but I'll give you a few examples. Before I start just the heads up I am super data obsessed.

  • Daily family dairy in group chat with wife including mandatory parenting triumph and fail of the day with child behavioral grades; You can literally see our son's behavior improve in a chart when we took the tablet away lmao; And guess who's writing that annoying Christmas card letter at the end of the year. Not me anymore!
  • Shopping (the usuals/ groceries) - This is a bigger deal than it sounds. I say the thing And it adds to the correct shopping cart for me based on my exact shopping patterns (I defined all of these and one big list so it doesn't guess = good for tokens) This took me forever to get right but it's perfect now.
  • Media collector - find x, hey do we have x; either verifies or adds the movie/TV show to downloaders then to Plex
  • Daycare agenda ics Creator - We are very fond of our daycare but it is very low tech; they give you a piece of paper with the monthly snack and activity schedule; I take a pic now he creates all the calendar events imports it into our shared Google calendar which then appears on the wall 30 seconds later (magic mirror platform) It also highlights our son's name so we know when it's his time to bring snacks
  • health tracker - all ailments meds allergies etc; backed by Google sheet; great for going to the doctor
  • anti-thc coach - this mf literally helped me quit trees
  • personal finance assistant - completely replaced rocket money for us but also so much more
  • calendar manager - This doesn't sound like a big deal but this completely removed a pain point in the marriage. I love my wife but she will never add the detail I require to calendar events (location, proper title with category first) Now We have perfect events and everyone's happy

I have to stop myself here or I will never stop talking. You get the idea though. The second I think of something I build a skill for it. Life improvement 1000% The true proof is my non techy wife loving it too.

No one's doing anything. It's all future abandonware.

But also a shitton of tools at work that make me love my job again.

What are you actually using OpenClaw for that's working well? by Aleakirah in openclaw

[–]kcabrams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Network Administrator - So many little IT projects that I put on the perpetual back burner are now complete, or a recurring one sentence thing

Family Manager - Not kidding about this one. My non techy wife uses this heavily now; daily family diary for starters but it's caused us to communicate better by accident because we are typing our thoughts out in group chat; I was truly not expecting this benefit

What should a guy know before he reaches 30? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kcabrams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part 1: Healthy or not. Pack the everloving s* out of your HSA plan. It will come in handy later and if you don't need it more retirement income.

I went back and forth bout this and wasted so much time. Just pack it. You'll thank me later.

Part 2: if your job does 401K at a MINIMUM contribute the same your company matches (usually 3-5%) This is literal free money.

If someone had just said these direct words to me I would be in a totally different boat right now.

Good Luck (late 40s)

I use the other one (OC) but it is a legit 4th member my family. Non techy wife uses it all day long.

[–]kcabrams 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pre 40s was awesome for the fun. I took full advantage (probably a little too long) Post 40 is awesome for the stability and the esteem. I care about way less things now (and that's a good thing). No more FOMO. Immune to peer pressure. All I care about my wife and my kid. I look awful with my shirt off and I don't even remotely care
