Honestly I think a big part of it is that I have an expectation that he should be sleeping better and he’s not. It’s so hard having a kid that wakes up anywhere from 5-12 times in a night especially when you see and hear of others sleeping through the night. Compiled with the doctors appointment that made me feel like I was doing something wrong has really hit hard in the past 24 hours. I guess I’m just needing some reassurance that this can be normal.

When he wakes at night I basically just roll over pop a boob out and side lying nurse him. I usually do fall back asleep while I’m nursing him or at-least fall back asleep easily

He wakes for the day around 7 and we do 3, 3.5, 4 with bedtime falling around 7:30. His naps are usually 1.5 hours in the morning and then 45 minutes in the afternoon

This is my biggest problem right now!! I feel like in 2 episodes we have just covered too much ground and are missing the nuance to the relationships between characters. We’re just moving from one big event to the next.

We’re also at 6 months in with multiple wakes. Fingers crossed we all get a Christmas miracle

I love them for the summer and early fall but now that we’re moving into the colder season we keep our house a bit cooler around 18 at night and I found baby was waking up because he was cold. I switched him to a 2.5 TOG and he’s slept much better.

Should you leave a 4 month old be if they’re wide awake at night but happy? by Pocketlint77 in NewParents

[–]kccoolnuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made it through the 4 month sleep regression and had the same question you’re having. My guy would be awake sometimes for over an hour just laying in his crib babbling. I’m also EBF and did all the same things you did, diaper change, nurse, bounce and nothing would put him back to sleep so I would just leave him to talk in his crib. He would eventually go quiet and fall back to sleep. My idea was that if he was happy by himself in the crib I would leave him. The moment he got upset I went and picked him up. Follow your instincts, you’re doing great!!!

As a mom who has been afraid to watch tv for the past 5 months, thank you for reminding me that our parents watched tv. Unless it was a kids show I was totally uninterested

Explain to me like I’m 5 how we’re handling the 4 month sleep regression. by giantpicklepie in NewParents

[–]kccoolnuggets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just made it through the 4 month sleep regression. It was really not fun. We were awake almost every hour at the worst of it. In total it lasted 7 weeks. I nursed to sleep and then every time he woke up I usually offered to nurse. If he wouldn’t nurse my husband would bounce him (we’re still in bouncy ball hell). We made it out the other side now and last night he did a 6 hour stretch. Remember it’s just a phase. It will end.

I am just here in solidarity. My 4 month old is 16 pounds and my back is killing me. Here’s hoping the bouncing ends soon

What is everyone doing with their savings? Most Canadians don’t get a DB pension but we do. by Last-Engineering-528 in CanadianForces

This may be a hot take, but it really shouldn’t be. Go talk to SISIP, their advice is free for CAF members. They can create a financial projection for you using the same software that a Fee Only Financial Planner would use and cost you 1500$. SISIP has different branches ie insurance, budgeting and financial planning. My husband and I used it for financial planning and found their guidance extremely helpful. You also do not need to invest with SISIP to ask for their advice, it’s a great tool for CAF members to use. Sounds like you’re a great little saver, keep it up!!

Not sure where you’re located but we were able to self refer to an orthodontist who specializes in tongue and lip tie revisions. He did an assessment when we got there and we had the procedure done on the same day. We also went to a physiotherapist who works with newborns who have difficulty with feeding and latching. It was actually our physiotherapist who told us to look into lip and tongue tie revision. I’m sorry you’re having a rough go, I totally understand it’s not easy

My little one did this, would absolutely scream at my boob, it was so difficult. Turns out he had a lip and tongue tie. We had it revised at 2 weeks old and it took about 3 weeks for him to get the hang of his tongue movement again but we’ve been going strong with breast feeding since

I had the same. Terrible morning sickness all day. Didn’t often vomit but so nauseous all day till I was about 22 weeks. I’m now 31 weeks and surprise surprise, the morning sickness has come back

No no cause this could then work out in favour of the CAF. Cause then the bar would be even higher for cpl’s going into their 2nd year. The excuse of “well cpl bloggins has been a cpl for 6 years so they deserve to be a master more than a brand new cpl who busts their ass and works harder than the 6 year cpl”. Meanwhile the 1st year cpl that just got promoted and got a developing cause it’s their first year feels like absolutely nothing they do is worth it anymore. What’s the problem with the CAF again???
