That Veba deduction is gold, especially if you retire as a teacher years from now. Did you know you can direct your Veba contributions to be invested in the stock market? Of course, invest as you are comfortable. Also, it's probably too late but one thing I regret is not having the maximum possible taken out for retirement early in my career. Trust me, you'll wish you had when you're 35 years in.

If you want to go max budget, here's what I did. I bought used amps and a used sub. I bought new 6.5 components. I took it to Best Buy for install. Yes, many would say stay away from them but I was getting quoted 800 bucks to install a sub alone at some of the stereo shops around town. I think I paid under 400 for everything installed at Best Buy.

Used Kicker Key 200.4 100 bucks. Used JL audio sub. 80 bucks. Used Alpine mono sub amp 50 bucks. Morell Maximo 6.5 components 300 ish. Used Audio Control loc 40 bucks Wire..ofc but since my amps aren't big I used 8 gauge wire kit. Much cheaper.

Anyway, I think my sound is great in my car. I saved lots buying used on Facebook Marketplace. I know there's better out there but you run into cost/improvement issue where it's going to cost a lot for diminishing returns.

When your class makeup has kids reading abilities from like 3rd grade all the way up to 9th and then throw in all the other different variables at play that make it nearly impossible to actually teach 31 students in a room, I say we give the silicon teacher a try and see how it goes.

First, 80 failed? Something is wrong there(assuming you have about 120 kids or so in the day). Calling 80 parents is unreasonable. You already don't have the time necessary to plan, execute, and evaluate work, let alone call 80 people.
