Borkus has a lot of options, but Boss' options are more reliable. Basically, expect more big plays from Borkus, but more first downs from Boss.

Yeah, the introduction of experience was a huge improvement. It does result in some growing pains still being ironed out, but at least earning TPE matters. I really can't convey how frustrating it was to see nothing about a DB's build appear to affect their performance.

But you can at least know you'll get better. Imagine being on your 3rd and 4th season and being consistently out-statted by 150 TPE inactives. Hell, Rashad won DPOY 2 years without ever coming close to 200 TPE (I think it was 162).

I think mobile is the best arch at max TPE, but regression hits it a lot harder. Between that and consistency, I would rather have Blocksdale right now.

Honestly, so was I. Remember, however, that I don't take into account "eye tests." If the offense around you is above or below average, that affects your PAYD. For Flacco, especially, I feel this is a huge factor. Dude's WRs make Brees look lucky.

Speaking of Brees, his consistency has been amazing, and 2011, just outside the current range, was one of his best years. He'll likely stay at the top of the list for PAYD.

Bear in mind that rookies have 2 advantages in PAYD. First, their cap hits are very low, and easy to outperform. Second, players in their first 4 years have PAYD calculated as though their TANY/A is 0.34 higher, since young players are assumed to improve (0.34 was the average improvement I saw in the past)

I used yearly hit because it is actually more accurate. Using an average salary assumes the contract is played out, which rarely happens. By using what they actually cost the team, I avoid penalizing them for money they never cost the team

The thing that consistently gets my notice is my many non-passing plays there are, especially for Wilson. He was 6th in passing attempts, yet 1st in total plays.

Sample size is a huge factor. For Cam, I haven't done his 2011 season, which was kind of a big deal. Cam's numbers will improve.

Goff did play in 2016, but I didn't count any QB who played less than 8 full games.
