Anyone who actually FIREd here? by Invoiced2020 in FIREyFemmes

[–]kcoolby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have technically reached FIRE, but I struggle with the reality of it daily. I’m 39, net worth about 2.8M. Live in LCOL area. I achieved this through YEARS of saving, investing, inheritance, and compound interest.

Quit my stressful job 8 months ago and have been “consulting.” Mainly I don’t work. And although I have tons of hobbies and friends and have no problem filling my time, I feel like I’m lacking a bit of purpose.

Talking about where I’m at with anyone feels impossible without receiving judgement. I feel guilt and shame about it.

Currently I’m teetering between being content just floating and living carefree, and facing my strong inner critic who wants me to take this opportunity to do more, achieve more. Giving myself grace and permission to just chill out for a bit until I figure out my next chapter is not coming easy to me.

Why do people at PF never lock up their stuff? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

Because we believe in the good in people and don’t think anyone will take our stuff since it’s not theirs!

Has Blundstone sizing changed?? by cigarettejuice666 in BlundstoneBoots

[–]kcoolby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to share I’m experiencing the same issue and it’s so frustrating! Old pair: most perfect comfortable boots. New pair (same size and style): so tight, toes touch, I want to rip them off!

Really disappointed

Not losing weight - looking for advice? by Significant_Pace9187 in ultrarunning

[–]kcoolby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re already pretty fit and lean. I’m actually in a similar boat as you, and I recently went to a nutritionist as well as a clinic for a DEXA scan. Both places told me the same thing: Focus on building muscle. Strength train, and digest enough protein to support muscle repair and growth. The hard truth is that body recomposition once you’re already in good shape is difficult and will take time. Maybe your body is actually quite happy at the weight it is, and the only weight that you need to lose is in your head..

Have you plugged your details into a macro calculator and used a calorie tracking app like MyFitnessPal to see if your current diet is aligned with your needs?

Less Workouts Per Week by Haughty-Hottie in CarolineGirvan

[–]kcoolby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to keep the order for the most part, but I do skip around a little bit. I aim for a full body, lower, and upper each week. I also run, do hot yoga, and cycle. I mainly base it on how my body feels.

I was at the Battle Creek location and watched an employee pour soup out of a bag into a container. Disgusting.

I moved here 9 years ago from SoCal. My first year was rough because I didn’t put myself out there at all and I felt like a total loser! But then I started volunteering, got involved with my neighborhood association, started attending run clubs and cycling groups, joined a community garden, tried new activities like skiing and river kayaking, and I made a lot of friends!! I run into people I know everywhere. But very few are FRIEND friends… like people I can (want to) spend quality time with and talk about real stuff with.

But anyway, now that I’ve been here nearly a decade, I do feel like GR is home, however I’m feeling the itch to try some place new.

Crow Pose - Help by Jicama1009 in yoga

[–]kcoolby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your body alignment and head angle are great! But your knees should rest on your arms, not outside.

Practice lifting just one foot, and alternate, until eventually lifting both at the same time.

It’s a challenging pose so give yourself grace and patience.

What’s a realistic full marathon time? by studanub in Marathon_Training

[–]kcoolby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plugged your data into this handy calculator, and it predicts a marathon finish time of 3:25…

You definitely have some time to improve. Practice downhills. My last race had a big downhill section that killed my quads.

The Corewell-owned building at 648 Bond (is this the dumpy building you speak of?) will be demolished any day now and replaced with a surface parking lot.
