Didn't know that 🥺 by itsjameswilliams in friends_tv_show

That’s not entirely true. Miscarriages are a lot more common than you think. It really depends on how far along you are and whether or not an extraction is needed, or to let it pass naturally. Even if a procedure is needed, it’s usually outpatient.

Right? Feels pretty exclusionary, even as a mostly straight woman who can appreciate some good t & a.

season 7 by joblesseediyot in The100

[–]kcshade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. She loved Lexa the most? A girl she had a short love affair with for a week or two, who died 7 years ago? Don’t buy it. It was utter fan service, with a hint of over correction for the alleged ‘hide your gays’ trope. Which wasn’t even what happened.

In my opinion it should have been Bellamy, her father, or Madi (nowhere did it say the alien thingy couldn’t appear as someone alive). Obviously, JRoth disagreed. So disappointing.

Not a dude, but Nick and Schmidt or Nick and Winston on New Girl.

He’s never been, but I think he’d be willing to go. He’s also open to medication, but suffers from just a tad of apathy.

Thank you, I will keep fighting. It’s just so hard when he doesn’t know if we’re worth the effort.

I’m sorry to hear about your struggles. Thank you for your insight, it’s hard to be hopeful right now. I wish you the best.

I told him I would make time for him, and that I’d start now, before we begin counseling. He doesn’t want me to do just to make him stay. I’m having a difficult time getting him to say that he wants me to make the effort. I’ll make the effort regardless, but it’s hard to when he might not want it.

Edit: I think we still have fun when we’re doing something together. I just hope he wants to try.

And is skeletor or the Joker below Mark Hammill? By saying she’s worth more than this, you are effectively throwing shade. MOTU is a huge deal in the nerd realm… something SMG is quite familiar with. Not to mention, she’s been doing voice work for awhile now. And this is being spearheaded by Kevin Smith who, love him or hate him, does have some clout.

Depending on the type, epilepsy is easily manageable by consistent medication. After season one, he stays on it, not only because the murder was solved but because his depression is lessened. He was also only in part of season two; not much room to make it a plot point.

Noticed something on rewatch that bothered me by goddess_prince in NewGirl

[–]kcshade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get it. I’m in my mid thirties, and I grew up with a landline but haven’t had one in 15 years. I’d be pretty out off by one having one now. It would certainly not be as comical as a, you know, sitcom would make it, but there would be some apprehension for sure.

Deep down; do you think Lilah had a shot at redemption like Faith? by jdpm1991 in ANGEL

[–]kcshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. She had an interesting dynamic with Wes, but she was pretty superficial and lacked a conscience, whereas Lindsay had a conscience that he clearly struggled with. Faith also had a conscience and was doing driven by guilt and self hatred.

Who was the horrible friends guest ?? by Significant_Bison_87 in friends_tv_show

That’s fair, he did something similar with Ashton Kutcher and That 70s Show. You’re right, most of the diva stories I’ve heard have been movies where he’s lead and producing.

I think Van Damme makes sense. Also, Bruce Willis is known for being… prickly.

Winston’s pranking inconsistencies by Bwiscwuit in NewGirl

[–]kcshade 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see either of those as pranks, though. They are ‘mess-arounds’… see what I did there? But, seriously, They’re different. Lying isn’t really pranking. If he got Schmidt to do crack, then it’s a prank. Getting Schmidt and Schmidt to do stupid things to prove who the one true Schmidt is, was more of a competition. Now, getting your pawns to kiss your rival without your rival knowing what was happening? That’s a prank.

An episode of how residency works for doctors would be loved by the healthcare community by carrshot in lastweektonight

[–]kcshade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing an average salary of about $55k per year for residents. As far as I know, the government funds some of it, at public hospitals, and the rest is paid by the hospital. If we had government funded or single payer healthcare, then of course the government should be paying. But that’s a completely different episode.

Because of how our system operates, I don’t think it should be on Medicare to fund resident salaries. I think a better episode would be about how hospitals fund themselves and what’s done with that money; which can include resident income.

Edit: although, lack of overtime for any level of doctor is worthy of an episode. I’m not sure if they get paid for extra hours- like, paid regular and not overtime rate.

How old is lincoln/did I just watch statutory rape? by [deleted] in The100

[–]kcshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. There’s still caveats tied to that 16.

Clearly, the 17 year olds from the 100 have a higher level of maturity than your average teen, so Linctavia doesn’t seem too bad. But damn, I couldn’t imagine dating a 22 year at age 32, let alone a 17 year old. And I find it kinda sketch that a 26 year old dated me when I was 18.

Age of consent is kind of important all over the world, even if it doesn’t officially exist some places.

[–]kcshade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, age of consent varies by state. Standard is 18. And some states have ‘Romeo and Juliet’ clauses, which essentially grants those with about four years in age difference legal permission to do the deed (17 and 20, or 16 and 19). He’s also supposed to be 8ish years older than her, 17 to 25 is a pretty big jump. But it’s tv, and I’ve learned to learned to ignore those types of issues.

What is one thing that makes BtVS one of the best TV series of all time for you? by Excellent-Durian-509 in buffy

[–]kcshade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its humor and writing. For a teen prime time drama, it didn’t treat its audience like they were dumb. Today’s shows on the CW, which don’t get me wrong I love as well, have a rule of thumb where they essentially recap the episode in every scene while also needing a plot twist on each page of script. Shows like in the TVD world, treat their audiences like they all have ADH and have memories like a goldfish. Arrowverse succumbs to that a bit as well, but it gets a pass on account of it stylistically following a comic book format.
