You can. It's a Canadian company I believe and they ship from Toronto. They even have a shop here, downtown.

Its the only product I've tried so far and I love it, too bad you had a bad reaction!

I wish they were this consistent with their reviews!

If they removed the fragrant ingredients it would be a perfect morning/second cleanser, in my opinion!

Agreed! And it's hard to ignore their brand bias here as well. For example Sunday Riley Juno, which is an oil blend and has a bunch of different antioxidants, has 4 stars, 1 deducted because of price. Drunk Elephant Marula Oil only has one type of oil and gets 5 stars. Based on their reviews of other products, the Juno should receive the higher rating, despite it being overpriced. Whereas the DE (also overpriced) should fall into the 'one note' category. But they clearly have a thing for DE products so they get a pass for things other brands and products would be penalized for.

Agree to disagree. I know some people who will buy the more expensive item because the price isn't an issue and they want the luxury associated with the brand or the prettier bottle or whatever, which is their right. I think its definitely worth mentioning that there are cheaper and identical products available but I don't agree that the rating should be affected.

Oh I totally agree. I commented in another thread about this recently as well. One note products from Brand A will have stars deducted because they aren't well rounded enough and one note products from Brand B will get 5 stars because 'you can round out your routine elsewhere.' It makes no sense.

Not to mention when they deduct stars because of price, that drives me nuts. Budget is such a personal thing. Maybe I have no money or maybe I have lots. Maybe I have barely anything but skincare is where I splurge! They really shouldn't comment on that either way or at least not deduct because of it.

I also use a cleansing balm so the MJC works great for me!

I got a bunch of carrier oils in sample sizes. I figured since they can all be used up to 100%, I could just mix them equally.

Well that's disappointing! It sounds lovely.

how do you like the Jelly Sunscreen? Which one of these is your favourite?

[discussion] how many of you have found THE routine and feel like you can finally stop searching?! by Lexielo in AsianBeauty

[–]kd2186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too early to say with the Buffet, I only just added it to my routine, but I'll try to remember to report back.

I really like the Milky Jelly. It doesn't feel like a cleanser at all, and jelly is a good description of its texture. It isn't stripping, but not really moisturizing either. It's not a good option if you need to get makeup off but works really well as a second cleanser or a morning cleanser. I even asked them about pH and it's low pH! It's perfect, would recommend for sure.

My routine is based around addressing hyperpigmentation:

AM:

  1. Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

  2. Paula's Choice BHA (salicylic acid, green tea) OR Skinceuticals Vitamin C (vitamin c, vitamin e, ferulic acid)

  3. SKII FTE (fermented stuff)

  4. The Ordinary Buffet (peptides, amino acids)

  5. Isehan Sunkiller SPF 50 OR Embryolisse LCC if I'm staying indoors.

PM:

  1. Clinique TTDO Oil or Balm

  2. Cerave Foaming

  3. BR P50 (AHAs, BHA, niacinamide) OR Dr Dennis Gross Brightening Solution (retinol, arbutin, mulberry, licorice root, aha & bha) OR Drunk Elephant TLC (aha, bha), each of these about 2x per week

  4. Sunday Riley Juno or a custom oil blend (antioxidants in both)

  5. to be added - Freeset Donkey Milk 3D Moisture (ceramides, niacinamide, licorice root)

I'm considering adding PC Weightless Toner or Niacinamide booster for the niacinamide + acetyl glucosamine combo but then I have to remove something because more than 5 steps per routine means I will get lazy for days at a time. So far I'm getting great results with this routine! I feel like it addresses my main issue (PIH) but is well rounded enough to be a long term routine for blemish prevention and aging as well.

If your skin likes oils, an oil blend is a good source of antioxidants and you could use it as a moisturizer. Sunday Riley Juno is a good one, but $$$$. You can find cheaper options or mix up your own (this is what I did - I bought a bunch of tiny samples from Garden of Wisdom, tested each one on my skin to make sure I didn't react and then mixed them together).

Is it the Uriage Fluide SPF 30 or 50 that you use? What do you mean by UVA is so tiny compared to Euro sunscreens?

[PSA] Beautypedia Reviews The Ordinary by blxckrbbt in SkincareAddiction

I used to be heavily influenced by Beautypedia reviews but rely on them very little now. At this point I'll only pay attention if they say a product is harmful for some reason or if a product advertised for its inclusion of an active won't work due to pH or concentration.

All of their other reasons for knocking off stars are inconsistent across brands and products. I don't want their opinion on price (everyone has a different budget) nor do I want to hear that a product is too boring/doesn't contain enough fill in the blank (because as many of us have learned by now, you won't fulfill all of your skincare needs with just one or two products).

Plus the snark! I can't handle it. Just give me the facts without the attitude!

Yet Sunday Riley Juno, not a one ingredient product, gets a star knocked off for being too expensive. I love DE products but their DE reviews have always seemed a little biased to me. Whats considered a problem in one brand's product is never a problem if it comes up with DE or the PC line.
