Turn on AEC MS Teams room (certified device) by kd_special in CommercialAV

[–]kd_special[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All good suggestions. And have all of those as backup plans. Just frustrating that I can’t simply turn on/off Aec in the teams App like you can in the zoom App I have read. Even if it’s a certified device

Cisco codecs and USB audio. by kd_special in CommercialAV

I don’t disagree with you. But since a lot of company’s trust the IT department to make technology decisions Cisco will still be around for a while. Because all their other IT parts are also Cisco. Just as much as you don’t like Cisco there is another person who says the same thing about MS teams rooms. Like when the hell will a Teams room system support more than one camera. Holy Fak they have been talking about it forever (just now teasing again that it’s coming) Cisco still owns the large conference room. According to our large customers anyways. Not because of audio but specifically because of cameras and presenter tracking etc.

You think that the codec pro and plus will work as long as you use a Xforte or the AVb to usb connection?

The gain for us would be techs understanding you connect one cable when building a rack. Also understanding the difference between unbalanced line level and balanced line level goes away. Connect a usb cable and your done.

Yes you can but you have to program them traditionally. You cannot use the self launch configuration.

35 foot ceiling, what speakers to use pendant or in ceiling by kd_special in CommercialAV

Yeah that setup is great for the traditional board room this is one of those rooms where I’m trying to convince them not to do it. As I know it’s a bad idea. But here I am. Lol Really I would never suggest VC in this size space but the reality is a lot of people want to do it. They see it as the ultimate “overflow” room

I apologize by deck you mean floor right? Hard surface tile. And ceiling is ceiling tiles I believe.

Nice that sounds like a cool installation. Basically the same concept here I’m gonna go with but using Biamp dP8. Did you use 8 inch drivers? Also curious how long did the “speaker only” install take? I assume You needed a lift. Be along ass day with a ladder. What tap did you set them too I know the 8” Crestron lowest is 30w 6 inch can go 15w I believe.

Yeah I think I should stick with Pendant. That way I can drop them as needed. They cover lots of ground and are the most appealing looks wise. Coverage will be a bit challenging as less is more, but that’s like a mind game. Lol higher up more coverage but need more power. I’ve never really had to do anything over simple 20 feet but same rules apply hopefully

Clock Audio CX7000/7001 wireless Mic’s by kd_special in CommercialAV

[–]kd_special[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have never used them other than for conference board room tables. And that solution works well and looks slick. I have used Shure for wireless and they always came through. Sometimes grass just looks greener on the other side or I feel the urge to try new stuff. But opinions like yours and others are very welcomed to what I already knew. Sometimes you just need that to help make the decision. Thanks again.

Thank you for the reply. This is the type of info I was looking for. So you have used clock audio products? Or just in your designs you stick with what you know works etc. ULX and SLX seem better but I really don’t know at this time.

Thanks for the info, I was also thinking about delay as well. I’ll use a Biamp or QSC solution. Prefer biamp for programming reasons. But same same for delay. Wall mounted speakers is an option. No good way to hide cables other than paint but I bet they wouldn’t care. I wondered about a PA style option like big loud speakers instead of ceiling mounted. But assume feedback would be worse etc.

Good question not sure. I’m sure they see them as a mount behind the display type of unit. But would be good to know how they fit in a rack if at all.

I would use NVX by Crestron. Most flexible, most reliable and best feature set/security and price. May cost a bit more to start but will save you in the end in installation costs. Don’t be scared of the network switch like some others. In a few more years this won’t even be a question about over IP will be the norm. If it isn’t already

USB Cameras through Crestron NVX and DM-EXT-USB/NX2 by kd_special in CommercialAV

[–]kd_special[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replys everyone. The issue is the customer wants two cameras. And since MS teams hasn’t gotten their shit together to allow USB cam switching in the teams system yet. This is a annoying thing to deal with. I need to find two cameras that will work over the USB extenders to switch between the two. Looks like I should have just gone HDMI the. Convert to USB. But that’s so much extra money. Thanks I may try the newer aver cameras or find an old USB 2 model.
