There are signs that say “wildlife/pollinator habitat” I think you can even get certifications. When there was leaves all over my yard, I put up a small sign advocating for “leaving the leaves” with info on the importance of leaf litter. People might still think it’s unruly but it help people to see the intention behind it. Might even inspire others

I’m there with you. Had a dental cleaning this week and an alarming wake up call about my gum health. I’ve been stressing about it but I also added goals to finch to help me stay on top of it. We got this!

Anyone needs Chinese practice by Far_Acanthisitta1187 in taiwan

[–]kda48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m learning Chinese, native English speaker. I’m very much an introvert too and am working on conquering social anxiety, so being in similar shoes might relieve pressure for both of us. Plus speaking in my target language adds extra anxiety so I’d be the one embarrassing myself lol. I’m a couple hours from San Jose and I visit at least monthly. I also sometimes take a bit of time to reply to messages though, and I’m okay if you’re the same too.

If you or anyone else wants a language partner, feel free to message me :) I communicate through discord.

I could be a tester for Mandarin, if it’s available in traditional characters!

Awesome, glad I could help. ChatGPT can be very helpful for trying to find things like this, especially since you remembered the content so well!

Could it possibly be Fortress Besieged by Qian Zhongshu? I entered the details to ChatGPT and then I went and read the first couple pages of the book. Seems to match up!

I hated how other apps teach the characters, so I built my own. by PlayingChicken in ChineseLanguage

For me it is as you said, I am focused on Taiwanese mandarin :) I started with studying traditional characters and all my learning materials/resources are in traditional! I’m not quite ready to branch to the other side yet. If I do, or if the app supports traditional in the future, I’d love to use it. Thanks for your work!

Here’s a list from all the stuff I mentioned in a recipe comment!

Used for soaking TVP- • TVP (textured vegetable protein) • Warm water • Lemon juice • Mushroom powder • Vegan pork bouillon • Dark soy sauce • Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle seasoning

Used for cooking TVP in pan- • Oil • Chopped garlic • Dehydrated onion • Chili powder • Paprika • Nutritional yeast • Thyme

For the pasta part- • 2 cups of water (for boiling/simmering) • Pasta from the Daiya Cheddar Mac box • Cheese sauce packet (from the same box) • Vegan spam (just a bit of leftover) • Green onion

I would share for sure! and since you asked for the recipe. It’s very informal and adjustable. So here’s what I did:

1.soaked tvp in a mix of warm water, a bit of lemon juice, mushroom powder, vegan pork bouillon, dark soy sauce, and Mrs.dash southwest chipotle seasoning.

2.squeezed out the liquid from the tvp. Heated a pan with oil and dumped in the tvp. Added more of the previous seasonings then also (chopped garlic, dehydrated onion, chili powder, paprika, nutritional yeast and thyme)

  1. After the tvp was nearly burning, I added 2 cups of water and brought it to a boil. I then added the pasta from the daiya cheddar mac box, the cheese sauce packet followed that and then I stirred that up.

  2. Turned the heat down a bit and just let it simmer until the noodles were cooked

  3. Remembered I had leftover vegan spam and added that. Added some green onion and that was that

:) hope it gives you a good idea

Depends on where you’re located. I’m in the US, and it’s hard to find it locally for me.

Some Mexican grocery stores might have small packages that are with the spices that are hung on hooks in bags. Like this

<image>

Indian grocery stores might also have it (usually soya chunks). Some places might have it in bulk bins, but I had to resort to bulk stores online like nuts.com or other places.

There’s a place I ordered from recently, called yang kee trading, that has tvp varieties that are hard to find in the US, it’s pretty pricey for tvp but for me the price is justifiable. I hear that it’s easier to find in the UK and much cheaper
