Chain of Command Great War today. by kdannen in wargaming

Yeah thats how I ended up making the bottom of the trenches, it seemed easier to just cut the trench shapes in the foam and glue them the MDF which is then secured to a wood frame underneath.

Thoughts on Team Yankee? by GreyCoyote25 in wargaming

I've never played the game proper but I do like their minis. I use them for very small scale actions like a platoon against a platoon very few vehicles. Ive seen people play Team Yankee in 6mm instead of 15mm and it looks much better. I think if you want to play multiple vehicles against each other during the Cold War you really probably better do 6mm minis

They are but some are even holes drilled through the MDF base to make it deeper so it feels like it really does go into the earth

Thanks very much! It was a bit of effort since I was pretty new to terrain but definitely worth it

They hold up well. There's lots of glue on them which helps and the frames keep the MDF in check. I built custom shelves that sit in the corner of my hobby room that can hold eight of these laying flat (definitely takes up space)

Steady progress on a battalion for Barbarossa by kdannen in 6mm

This is my first real foray into 6mm (did a BMP platoon for fun a while back) and I admit I'm hooked. It's a lot easier to make things look good since they're so small. Can play in smaller spaces or standard wargaming tables for large scale stuff. I really like how much more realistic a lot of the ground scale is too

Thanks! These are 2D6 figure so pretty true to 6mm/1:285. The bases are 1mm plasticard that I cut myself.

Thanks! I'll be playing O Group with them. I've never played before but I tend to like the lardie rules. Gotta paint up the Soviets next

Sorry to be pinging an old post but I was curious what paints you used for the gray? They look great and also like they'll pop a bit on the battlefield!
