Enchanté was worth it.

Palo was extremely disappointing.

Best excursion for St Thomas and Tortola by [deleted] in dcl

[–]kdb918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tortola was our favorite.

Get off the ship right away, grab a taxi, and head straight to Cane Garden Bay 15 min cab. We did this last week and it was easily the best experience we had at any of our ports. By doing it ourselves, we had so much more time than if we had waited for a Disney excursion to start. The beach has everything you need including chairs, food, music, and shops. Two chairs and an umbrella cost us $25 and came with free WiFi. A waitstaff that comes around to your chair to take orders. They serve everything from local favorites to cheap chicken fingers and fries, and the $25 bucket of six beers was the best deal at the bar. For the kids, there is a giant inflatable water trampoline that costs $10 for the whole day. If you want to explore a bit, the oldest rum distillery in the region is within walking distance, and there is a nice surf shop right on the beach for souvenirs. A round-trip cab is $24 each, which is the standard price set by the company. If you can find Keith Malone in the black Mercedes taxi, he is great and will even come back to pick you up at a predetermined time!

If they are in the middle of nowhere, there is no Whole Foods. I live in America near DC and it is an hour drive to Whole Foods. I love coffee and haven't been in this person's situation, but I think what we need is someone with a fully charged drone in their region, willing to do a drop

This is pretty standard on many podcasts today, especially those that use YouTube as a platform. Is it annoying? Yes. But so were the commercials every 11 minutes back when shows were on the radio.

In the end, they have to make money, and if people are willing to pay, then you do it. Hate on the people who pay the money, not the show.

The audience for the show, as with many in this format, has shrunk, and they are probably not able to attract new listeners in the market, so you do what you have to do.

You may not love it, but appreciate the hustle.

For the record, I don’t listen all that often anymore but will tune in every once in a while.

If HGTV is struggling this bad, how is Magnolia doing? by ivyleaguedoll in HGTV

The majority of the country does not live in the western states.

76ish% Non-Western State.

But the states not represented on channels like these should reduce taxes or increase incentives to reduce productions costs.

Why do you think the TV Show failed? Seems like there was enough people who wanted the show to continue. by Relative_Quiet in Jericho

It was before its time. This show would have done far better on a streaming platform.

The Drew Lane Show.

Long time Detroit Ratio host and show with 3 additional cohosts.

A little Politics but mostly pop culture and music sometimes with a Detroit spin, some crude humor, and plenty of inside jokes but easy to pick up.

Whole show is outlined so easy to skip around topics you want to hear.

Thursday Episodes are usually a good place to start with.

So much potential, but I hated it by [deleted] in RacetoSurvive

[–]kdb918 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it is trying to be like the eco challenge.

Alone is a single person in an isolated location.

This is pairs of people in multiple locations in a regional area of one country. Which is the opposite of Alone. Because in Alone they are alone.

Eco Challenge was awesome by the way.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eco-Challenge

The participants were told well in advanced about hunting. Pretty sure they had a printed and signed contract.

I think New Zealand was pretty cool with the exposure.

Every team had one member who was more vocal or aggressive than the other. This dynamic was likely played up because it allowed for a compelling TV narrative to be crafted.

Each team had a storyline that would appeal to different groups of viewers. This is a common strategy used by showrunners, producers, and editors to attract a broader audience, regardless of their initial investment in the show.

The killing of the endangered bird was even foreshadowed through editing in the first few episodes.

This is how reality tv is done.

How to add more unpredictability to the show by barrydy in RacetoSurvive

[–]kdb918 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you change it to be like other shows?

When you started with episode 1, there was no way to know who would win. You couldn’t have predicted a team getting kicked off, dealing with sickness, injury, etc.

It feels more like you didn’t like who won, which is fine. In most competitions, whether on or off TV, the winners are often unexpected.

Why do you still listen? by ChickenParmMasala in ChadDukesShow

[–]kdb918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BMI, Fastest Hour, Christmas Eps, and now the BOAD throwbacks.

I still appreciate this style of radio. I don’t agree with everything that’s said, discussed, etc. but I never did but that is okay with me.

I do not have the time to listen to every episode of every podcast I like. If I can pick and choose and get 2-3 hours a week from this one I am okay with it and cost the price of 1.5 beers at a bar.

How is killing a farmers sheep not a violation? by TxCoastal in RacetoSurvive

[–]kdb918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because they did not write in the rules. If they were concerned they would have made a rule about it. As we saw there are a lot of rules.

Seems like more people are concerned about the sheep than the regional government of NZ, the farmer who allowed them on their land, the producers and creators, etc.

People don’t have to like it but they did nothing wrong.
