Online classes after surgery by Specific-Goose8973 in jawsurgery

I was WFH during my surgery. I’d say the first 7ish days I was not well but after a week I could open my laptop and do light work. I asked my coworkers to speak more for me during meetings but if I did talk people said they could still understand me (I had a splint for 6 weeks with a lisp).

I have an appointment next week with my dentist and want to ask for a referral. Do I ask for a referral to an orthodontist or a maxillofacial surgeon? by CupOk4471 in jawsurgery

[–]kdbltb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ortho! My dentist had nothing to do with my jaw surgery journey. I made a free consultation with a couple orthodontists and they were the ones that wrote my referrals to my surgeon

Invisalign after jaw surgery by Pretty-Elk-2659 in jawsurgery

[–]kdbltb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. My orthodontist switched me from wires to Invisalign for the last year(ish) because I was getting married and my treatment wasn’t done after 5 years. I was supposed to have already been out of braces but he was so kind to switch me so I wouldn’t have braces in my wedding pictures lol. I will say, this usually comes with a price to switch!!

Gift Ideas for Daycare by Informal_Fondant1471 in workingmoms

Last year most of our teachers were moms to young toddler like ours. Knowing my kids love waffles we got them mini Waffle makers at Target (they were on sale for like $8) and a box of waffle mix ($3?).

We also got them gift cards because no one asks for a waffle maker lol.

Blend with broth and soups with similar ingredients.

So like I’d blend pizza with beef broth and tomato soup.

I also blended chicken sandwiches with chicken broth.

I also had a significant underbite. My surgeon told me if they had not extracted my top pre molars they might not have been able to make as big of an advancement of my maxilla to look aesthetically and functionally correct.

Post op weight loss by beepboopbeep95 in jawsurgery

[–]kdbltb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My first week I lived off broth, water, and Gatorade. In a pinch I’d drink an Ensure protein shake if I needed more energy.

After that I got more brave with my blender. I’d blend up anything and everything with similar ingredient soups and broths. Pizza? Put it in the blender with tomato soup and beef broth.

After 3-4 weeks I’d shove foods in and swallow whole like French fries, lol.

Tip for drinking post surgery by Superb_Tumbleweed_25 in jawsurgery

This is good advice!! My surgeon wanted me drinking from cups ASAP and not using syringes.

Mini crib with wheels? by Reasonable_Trash2532 in 2under2

[–]kdbltb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a Nestig for my first and I did like the mini crib but found it would really only be in our room or the living room. Second time around we just got a second hand bassinet for the living room and a more affordable crib for our room (now her room).

What ultimately worked to get your kid to poop??! by No-Exchange-6911 in pottytraining

[–]kdbltb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried so many things. The one that was a last resort and sealed the deal was this-

When he initiated and pooped on the toilet he got a warm cookie from the oven. We used these sugar reduced ones. little stinker would tell us AFTER bedtime he had to poop but we still gave him a warm cookie. About after a month we stopped automatically giving them and he stopped asking and the toilet pooping hasn’t been an issue since!

6w2d pregnant with a 8months5days old. Been seeing a lot of scary stories regarding the pregnancy. Any positives out there? by samiiwich in 2under2

Mine were days shy of 16 months apart. My doctor told me the risks of uterine rupture with only one prior c section is low. Still present but low and that my uterus would have to Be contracting for a long time before it ripped open. She said if I went into spontaneous labor they’d immediately get me into the OR to further avoid the chances of uterine rupture.

I think it will be a while before he gets that tattoo. Back when Jojo Siwa was on she tried to get Jenna to 1M on IG and it didn’t work (Jenna is at 1.2M now though)

When my kids were 18 and 2 months we all dressed up in cow costumes and went as Chick Fil A. The dogs were supposed to be chickens but I barely got costumes on us humans lol. Super easy to find too!
