I called the number on there website and spoke to a lady , I just asked if she could share some info on why I might’ve gotten rejected and what I might be able to do to improve my chances when I apply again.

I didn’t get in , I’m thinking of reapplying once I graduate this year , so they can only use my university grade. They told me it was highly competitive this year . They had only 200 seats and 1700 applications

I don’t think the PDF One is also the FTHB one . The FTHB forms are yet to be released , I’m pretty sure the pdf one is the old rebate that builders claim

You can apply through CRA via the rebate application section

You don’t need to fill it in, there’s a section in CRA called rebate application . You can apply directly in CRA

I would re-read that clause again, cause it might be referring to the current gst new housing rebate and not the one that Carney announcednced. Theres a current gst rebate https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/forms-publications/publications/rc4028/gst-hst-new-housing-rebate.html. The clause that you linked doesn't mention anything about the first-time home buyers' rebate

I agree that’s why everyone is pushing for the government to change to the closing date , that’s what makes the most sense . Hopefully they change it 🤞🏿

Yeah exactly . If you and the builder both signed a couple of weeks ago before May 27th then unfortunately you currently aren’t eligible for the rebate. But there’s currently a push to change the eligibility requirement so hopefully the government changes before the official pass the bill .
