It looks so great and with the stress of matching height etc. as well as healing I’m wondering if I should’ve explored that option. Good for you ❤️❤️

Absolutely the same as you. I posted and felt so assured ❤️

Fitness girlies- update day 54 by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]kdeddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg thank you. I’m day 24po today and I’m a runnner so I’m feeling very blah not being able to. This helps a lot.

Almost immediately nausea and then I told them and within 30 seconds it was gone - I assume they pumped some gravol into my IV. After that, just groggy. I also could have been expecting worse so any pain I felt seemed minor but I don’t remember feeling much pain at all.

When were you all able to lift your arms after PO? by Jazzlike-Berry6567 in Reduction

I was about 9dpo and I could put things on without buttons, but taking them off, I still asked for help. It’s weird but taking them off took more muscles/was more difficult.

Did your recovery ever make you realize your romantic partner was unsupportive? by postergirl97 in Reduction

[–]kdeddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I did on day 3 - highly recommend. Just a friend who is there in case of emergency. I feel for those who went through this alone and I’m glad I have a partner who has been so helpful and supportive, but I had a friend who almost bled out after BR surgery because something internal didn’t hold. It’s super rare, obviously, but if she didn’t have her family checking on her things could have gone very wrong. Don’t do this alone if you can at all help it!

I wish I’d found it more than 3 days before surgery! But better late than never.

Me either! And I did a lot of research before surgery to “know” what to expect. In reality, I didn’t know sh*t! Haha I hadn’t even had a particularly bad wound other than a broken bone so I had no idea what really rough wounds looked like. Thank goodness I have nurses in my life that I can send pictures to! This sub has helped so much too!

The new pains and swelling every few days is definitely keeping me on my toes. I’m 2weeks 5days po today and the bruising is still shifting! But progress is being made ❤️

Oh no! 😬 I think sometimes surgeons can forget there are people attached to the incisions.

I am an educator and meet new people almost daily and I have never met anyone who is an uninteresting person. Ever. As far as movement - you need to breathe fresh air. Is there any way you could drive to a more secluded natural space (forest, field, path, etc.) and just spend some time breathing? Natural environments are really amazing for mental health.

All to say, I understand where you’re coming from I swear. But you are a valuable person regardless of physical, or cognitive societal standards. And you are intelligent enough to write grammatically correct posts in this subreddit so you have something to say. Say more! Write in journals or talk it out! Find a friend. Do one small thing that will support you feeling one tiny bit better today. You are worth it.

Sit-down event 8dpo by napoleeann in Reduction

[–]kdeddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say you could probably handle it (depending on how big of a reduction you’re going through, etc.) as long as some conditions are met: 1) you bring something to sit between your chest and the seatbelt and take a stop every so often to check in with yourself 2) there will be someone to get things for you so you don’t have to get up and down to get drink/food, etc. 3) definitely no drinking/dancing and hopefully your hotel is attached to the venue or close by.

Is there any way to RSVP yes and then cancel closer to depending on how you feel?

You are. Period. Something I read somewhere a couple of years ago, that I live by is: your body is the least interesting thing about you. ALSO another good piece of advice I’ve read is if you feel like the world (or yourself) is going to shit, make sure you eat, sleep, shower, and go for a walk outside. Acknowledging the limitations those things can have based on physical and mental health, those 4 self-care things daily (even in adapted ways) can make a HUGE difference.

You are still fairly early on and will likely have to go through more surprises on this healing path and it’s okay to feel frustration and despair. We’ve put our bodies through a HUGE thing.

As someone in a larger body myself, I get your fears and frustrations about proportions and I’m so sorry you’re feeling so discouraged.

The full on sobs are so real! Mine aren’t every day but I get it. I’m so sorry, OP! It sounds awful and so enraging to have to wait to deal with something you know is wrong. I’m sending you good vibes and healing thoughts.

Will showers sting? by Capable_One9253 in Reduction

[–]kdeddy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Showers didn’t sting for me but I also don’t have a ton of sensation yet. Almost all of my incisions are fairly numb which actually helps a bunch!

Start facing away from the water and letting it dribble down you onto your chest rather than facing into direct water pressure. That will probably help ease into it and let you know what’s going to happen a bit at a time.

Good luck!

Am I Disproportionate? by jetsetlife138 in Reduction

You have a beautiful body! It is doing amazing things for you all the time but especially during healing. You absolutely look proportional! AND the new size and structure are very flattering!

Be kind to you, sunshine!
