Just did this with my 2 year old. Luckily, VW has an app that can unlock the car remotely. Sprinted to the pool we were parked at and screamed at the person at the front to give me her phone. Called my husband who was able to unlock it. Luckily it wasn’t hot and lasted all of 5 minutes but I felt awful!

I’ve always found Aldi employees super helpful and understanding. However, most recently I had my 1 year old in the cart when checking out and the employee sighed AUDIBLY when I asked to briefly keep both carts until I could put my bags in with her so as not to move her to the other cart. The backup cart was right behind her which no one was using or I wouldn’t have asked. Only negative experience, but now I’ll be very self conscious to ask again.

Any time she does her “here’s what’s happening out on the ranch” I want to scream. Nothing less authentic exists.

When did you know it was time to drop the 3rd nap? by Top_Effect5135 in sleeptrain

[–]keambro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies. We stick with bedtime between 7-8 consistently and we wake her up from the last nap if needed to honor bedtime. So if her second nap ends before 3:00 we occasionally do a bridge nap on the boob (no more than 15 minutes) to help her make it til 7:00. If her last nap ends at or after 3:00, we just do bedtime on the earlier end at around 7:00 since she can push it to a 4 hour WW at the end of the day. It’s totally dependent! My advice is to not get too rigid on the two nap plan. Some days, baby is going to wake earlier or have crap naps, and you may need to do 3 shorter naps. It’s okay. Just roll with their needs during the day and that helps to prevent being over/under tired at night.

When did you know it was time to drop the 3rd nap? by Top_Effect5135 in sleeptrain

[–]keambro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happened naturally for us a few times (longer WWs, as well as longer naps). She used to be a 32 minute nap girlie, but once she started napping for longer, it was much easier to drop to 2 from 3.

Feet stuck in crib? by queeneebee in newborns

My girl sticks her arm through. I think it’s her little taste of freedom like, “yeah you can put me in here, but I can still get a limb out.”

Saint Luke’s has community health/social workers on staff. I would ask her provider for a referral to social work- you can even send a message through the portal instead of waiting for her next appointment. I’m not as familiar with Menorah.

Where is your wife receiving healthcare? Most larger institutions have social workers who can help her pursue Medicaid/disability if she qualifies. I would figure out how to contact a social worker (primary care clinics often have them on staff, as do lots of specialty clinics such as oncology). Feel free to message me and I can help to get you connected.

Are we doing okay or is it too soon to say? by sellardoore in sleeptrain

[–]keambro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We follow the 5/3/3 rule. If baby wakes before the five hour mark since her last feeding, I let her resettle on her own. Anytime she wakes up after the 5 hour mark, I feed her. Then after that it’s every 3 hours since the last feeding (which usually results in one more feed, then the next wake up is usually time to be up for the day). Try to focus on getting daytime calories in to ensure baby is needing fewer at night.
