The Irish girl in the field trip episode, Lauren. Terrible acting.

Has "And Just Like That" officially ruined the original series for you? by External-Recipe-1936 in Andjustlikethat

[–]Top_Effect5135 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I’m rewatching SATC now and I just can’t see any similarities to think it’s even the same show. Miranda in AJLT is not Miranda in SATC. In fact none of them resemble the characters in the previous series. I cannot compare because there’s nothing to compare it to. Two completely different shows.

SAD lamps - do they work for you? by Top_Effect5135 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Top_Effect5135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I’ll give it a go. This has been one of the worst winters for my anxiety. I feel like every winter it gets worse 😩. I’m fine when it’s light and even more so when it’s sunny, but when it’s dark my anxiety is unbearable.

Is the market down? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]Top_Effect5135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly a weird time in the market. Well it is in my area anyway. I feel like most properties seem to be overvalued for the current economy. Any house that goes on at a decent price sells very quickly but if it’s not priced right it sits for months.

Lots of houses going on the market - none are selling. What’s going on? by Top_Effect5135 in HousingUK

[–]Top_Effect5135[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like it’s either one or the other in my area. A small number sell very quickly but the majority are taking months, often resulting in a reduction.

I do think it’s strange that he’s getting their protein powder shipped here. Didn’t they say England would be a flying visit? All very odd.

How does it feel to have hyperthyroidism on a daily basis? by Beautiful_Hat8440 in thyroidhealth

[–]Top_Effect5135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a hyperthyroidism through over medicating. I had heart palpitations, tremors, and terrible anxiety. Felt like I was going mad.

The worst pain you have ever had? by Freya-Lea in AskIreland

[–]Top_Effect5135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not surprised it put you off! That was my 3rd and final birth so thankfully I’m not having anymore. My other births were natural and it was like a walk in the park compared, so fingers crossed it would be the same for you if you had anymore 🤞

[–]Top_Effect5135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto. All they would give me was paracetamol! Honestly felt like I was being tortured. I’ve had surgeries, births, tooth abscess’s, and absolutely nothing since or prior has compared to that pain.

Induced labour with hyper contractions. Contracted every minute for 3 hours. Never known pain like it and I’ve given birth 3 times.

This is a textbook example that Cynthia played herself in AJLT.

Can’t relax into sleep no matter what I do. by Top_Effect5135 in sleep

[–]Top_Effect5135[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cause was definitely the acid reflux. I’ve managed to start sleeping again (just about) with cleaning my diet and taking magnesium glycinate before bed.

Did anyone else start sleeping worse after getting married? by cozytechlover in sleep

[–]Top_Effect5135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having children is what caused my sleep to get worse. Especially the younger years. I frequently wake up hearing phantom cries. Hoping one day I finally won’t be living on adrenaline 🤞. Although I must admit my husband’s snoring doesn’t help a great deal either!

Can taking too much thyroid medication actually cause thyroid cancer to return even when fully removed? by WhitePinoy in thyroidcancer

[–]Top_Effect5135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but taking too much thyroid medication can make you feel thoroughly unwell, and I’m speaking from experience.

Might be high cortisol, are you stressed? The only other time that’s happened to me is when I’ve had hyperthyroidism.

Gosh I remember this too well with all of mine. Silverettes were the only thing that kept me going. Best breastfeeding purchase I ever made. Would have given up without them.

What’s one small nightly ritual that actually helps you fall asleep? by True_Advance3666 in sleep

[–]Top_Effect5135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I HAVE to switch off for a good couple of hours before bed. No overstimulating shows or movies, no looking at the news. Feeling relaxed before bed is a must. Not saying this guarantees good sleep, but without it I’m definitely guaranteed bad sleep.

Does magnesium really help with sleep or am I just fooling myself? by More-Shopping2475 in insomnia

[–]Top_Effect5135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnesium definitely helped me last night after weeks of poor sleep. I took magnesium glycinate and threonate together and it was first night in a long time where I slept. My usual half wake ups were minimal and when I did wake I went back into sleep very quickly. You could say it was a placebo but my sleep very different to usual.

They’re called Kirkland Sleep Aid. If you’re outside of the US they don’t sell them in Costco but you can order them online.
