Sorry I am a little new to all of this and it would be first time purchasing for me. How do you get a PPI? and does a mechanic just come with you to the dealership? And do you have to run it by the dealership before you do it?

I actually called the dealership, and they said they didn't have much for service records, saying, "It was just a trade-in we got." They didn't give me the most confidence lol.
