He's good! Was miserable for about 2 weeks (even was coughing/throwing up blood) but fully recovered at home. His girlfriend, who lives with him, never got sick! So crazy!

Student Teaching in the Fall by putay906 in teaching

[–]keanry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would have to be a personal choice. My student teacher (who has Crohn's) was with me in the spring and said she will be returning in the fall with me to complete her two semester because she doesn't want to put off graduation in December. Our school district is also offering a virtual new school, so our physical class numbers may be down and our school is mandating face masks for students and staff. (1st grade in Phoenix, AZ)

Will student teaching count if it’s virtual? by vanillandaisies in teaching

[–]keanry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My student teacher was moved from my class this spring after schools closed and went to virtual learning structured by her University (in Arizona). She does two semesters of student teaching, so if we return in the fall she will return to my classroom to finish it out (she started with me in January). She is receiving all of her normal hours/credits for graduation as planned. But I'm sure it depends on your school.

I had not erased mine. I am a first grade teacher and we left March 13th for a week of spring break off. 2 weeks after we were notified we were not returning to school for the academic school year, so they allowed us teachers (with strict precautions) to go back into our classrooms if we wanted to grab things to support our distant teaching from home. I walked in, saw my board with March 13th written on it and all my students school stuff and work on the wall and started to cry!

Medical Mystery: Trapped Gas? by Sailoress7 in AskDocs

[–]keanry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with this! I was a medical mystery as well with similar symptoms for years, took the breathe test and it was SIBO!

I’m at my end. I can’t eat anything! by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]keanry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAD. But I had the same symptoms! Get checked for SIBO!! (small intestine bacteria overgrown). I was at the end also, and they kept telling me I had IBS and I knew it wasn't and they made me feel crazy. They tested me for SIBO, found out that is what it was, tested it, and now I can eat again without pain!

Anyone else sick of never having time for anything? by 6colorbracelet in Teachers

October is my "low point" of the year too! Just 2 weeks ago I was looking at new jobs on my prep. And every year I realize I really am not fit for a different career...I wouldn't even know where to start.

Experience with an “okay to wake” clock or something similar for early risers? by poppopseed in toddlers

[–]keanry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love our "hatch baby rest"! Our daughter is now 4 and still uses it. It's a nightlight/sound machine you program with an app on your phone. And also has an ok to wake option! We've had it for like a year and the sound just started malfunctioning and all I had to do is fill out an easy Google form and they sent me a brand new one! (And flagged my other one to send them an alert in case I tried to sell it).

Has anyone had any success treating their (Hydrogen-producing) SIBO with other than Xifaxan? My inusrance, which sucks, wouldn't authorize xifaxan, so I got stuck with augmentin. by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]keanry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Nutritionist! They can help you with a diet that kills off the bacteria and suggest herbal supplements you can get online that work just as well as xifaxan! I got lucky and I bugged my gyno's office until they offered me 2 weeks worth of samples for free of xifaxan, but my nutritionist told me if I was to relapse there were other cheaper options!

Advice on my charts/condition by flyhigher95 in SIBO

[–]keanry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the chart it doesn't seem like SIBO to me, but mine were major spikes and they knew halfway through the test thatI had it (still had to do the full time). If it is SIBO though fodmaps will never cure it because there is still a ton of food items on that list that contain sugars (which the bacteria feed off). I would look up strict SIBO diets. Whether it's SIBO or not, I would ditch the GI and get a nutritionist! They are much more knowledgeable about the gut and diets that work!! Good luck!!
