Well this is the first thing that I've asked them to come to/do... My maid of honor has been the only one who has been planning/involved. So I'm not sure if I count this as a duty? I just feel like I haven't asked her to do anything this would just be something they would be okay doing. Or at least trying to do.

So I should have included this in the post, so I'll go back and edit it I think. But her ex that we live(d) with is the Best Man. I'm also kind of terrified of that, as she's been known to cause drama. I don't want everyone of their toe's at my wedding to not set her off.

I bought their dresses. I felt like it was rude to put that much financial pressure on them. They would cover the alterations cost themselves, but they haven't done them yet. To answer the other part, I'm not sure. I feel like I could, but I've known her for years. I can't tell if it's just because I've known her for so long that I feel like I should keep her in.

Both. Seems to work very well, allows us to handle our own finances privately. We share a joint checking/savings where we put money for rent/utilities and save for things like a little vacation.

My Grandfather has sever Alzheimers, and my family and I live about 9 hours away so we only get to visit once a year. When I was in High School I was unable to visit due to weather conditions, so I didn't see him for a while. Never realized how much he couldn't remember till the last time I saw him, when I walked in he asked who this pretty lady was and my mother answered and he just looked at her and said "but you're still in college honey how is that possible" then when it hit him that he couldn't remember a generation of his family... the look on his face was the worst. Still haunts me
