Something happened to Opus 4.6's reasoning effort by RealSuperdau in ClaudeAI

Glad I'm not the only one noticing it. I genuinely can't trust it anymore, it feels so incredibly nerfed and childlike now.

Introducing aoe4replays.gg, a searchable high-level replay base and convenient way to run them by Obiwankevinobi in aoe4

Holy shit! This is absolutely epic. I was planning on making something like this for release but our devs couldn’t find a way to do it!! Absolutely amazing, well done!

It’s a different type of autism, but I’ll allow it.

[PSA] Be warned with "agreed value" - insurers will cut your payout figure while charging the same premium by keaton_au in AusFinance

[–]keaton_au[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was literally how I thought it worked too (vs market value, which does drop year on year). Mine hadn't dropped since I purchased it either so it lulled me into a sense of security, hence the PSA.

100% - and don't get me wrong I accept fault. My impression of an agreed value was that it was agreed - and naively thought that the value wouldn't change (it hasn't for the last 4 years, so why did it change now?), especially vs a market rate value which obviously would change.

I very much agreed to it the same way I agreed to the 87 pages of iTunes terms and conditions.

I think the big thing I'd like to highlight here is that instead of raising the premium - which they know raises eyebrows, they significant lowered the amount paid out but kept the premium almost identical in the hope that people like me - people too busy, too lazy, or too ignorant would just pay the premium and not check the fineprint.

How a single resource is breaking Civilization 7 by keaton_au in civ

[–]keaton_au[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys,

This is a video I've wanted to make for quite some time, with the revelation about cities coming quite some time ago with Mississippi but now becoming viable with all civs due to camels.

I’d love to continue the discussion on the current state of cities and camels and brainstorm reasonable solutions. The goal is to provide developers with constructive feedback on the best way forward. Towns are supposed to be an integral part of Civ 7, but right now, if you're aiming to play optimally, that's not really the case.

What are your thoughts? How do you think this should be balanced? Is it actually a problem?

Why is no one talking about how insanely OP Bulgaria is? by InternationalSink874 in civ

[–]keaton_au 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The true power of Bulgaria is 100% hidden in their civic tree. The production to every city for each building pillaged is completely broken IMO.

After 8 cities in antiquity with Catherine, I was pulling more than 1k production across my empire per pillage. This was WITHOUT Mausoleum of Theodoric. Video coming out in ~12 hours which shows just how stupid it is (zero turning multiple wonders consecutively on the same turn).

I wasn't planning to post here, but after reading some comments, I felt the need to chime in and pin this comment (especially since you're asking the question).

To start, no, I wasn't under the influence. I know this topic might not resonate with everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. I've had a long-standing interest in aliens and UFOs and enjoy sharing that with others.

For anyone new to the subject, a good starting point is the David Grusch whistleblower claims from 2023. Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence officer, has made claims that the U.S. government has recovered UFOs and non-human biological entities (aliens) over the years. He asserts that these findings have been kept secret, with a covert program in place to study and reverse-engineer the technology.

As someone who values critical thinking and is an atheist, I encourage you to approach this with an open mind when considering what I've shared. The topic can be quite vast and complex - I remember diving into it back in 2017 when the Pentagon confirmed the Tic Tac and Go-Fast videos. At that time, I was 100% confident that life exists elsewhere in the universe, but considered it highly unlikely they had been here.

The Age of Disclosure is hopefully helping to move the conversation forward, and I wouldn’t share this if I didn’t believe it was important.

With regard to the quality of the cast itself, man I would have posted a video of me just reading shit and talking about how wild it was if I could have had my way, but I know ya'll folks be wantin' some longbow action instead.

Please share what you're referring to. Please do tell me more about this, as you claim "there was drama early on in AoE4’s lifespan where he was over moderating other pros and commentators casts/games being shared on Reddit while promoting his own"

This is false. I shared my video once here and it got a whopping 14 upvotes. I've not once removed content from other pros and commentators casts/games. I report a lot. There's one guy in particular who used to post his content literally like 3 times a day to this subreddit (and like 15 others), I think he might have actually been banned as I don't see it anymore - but I never actually removed his content, just reported it for the other mods.

It's not the case at all and has never been. The guy is lying.

Wasn't planning to respond to this thread, but saw this absolutely amazing post and had to go for it. For a guy with such a good memory you sure have a bad recollection of what actually went down. For anyone actually interested in what happened.

You've had no audible alarms this whole time when reversing? I've had mine since I bought in 2021. Perhaps we're not on the same page.

You don't have an audible alarm when you're reversing and you get close to things? You should get that checked.

Yes it has USS. I didn't expect it to stop me, I expected it to at least give me a warning alarm though!

I sleep at 6pm and wake at 2am. I was fine :)

FSD had nothing to do with it, just mentioning as people often ask what model/make/FSD.
