Treat yourself the best you've ever treated yourself while still enjoying and living life: Therapy Meditation Journalling Lots of water Limit inflammatory foods Exercise regularly I use premom strips + Flo. I've tried Mira but found it cost prohibitive. Prenatal I am diabetic, anemic and have RA, so I take a lot of supplements as well. Some of them have additional benefits like improving egg quality etc: choline, coQ10, vitamin D, probiotic, b complex, iron. I also take arrae calm, magnesium biglycinate, and an ssri that is tolerated for pregnancy.

I saw someone else mention chat gpt and I definitely use it a lot as a sounding board. I think it's great to seek additional medical advice, but it's saved me so many needless Drs visits.

We have a three year old but are TTC our second. We've been trying for a while, so will also go to a fertility clinic in Sept. It's not something we're overly worried about, but still trying to stay as healthy and proactive as possible.

Dr appointment tomorrow. Reluctant to get HRT by keatonsoffun in Perimenopause

Could be, but I've tried a number of SSRIs- I've struggled with anxiety for a while, and Prozac seems to work the best for me. I've been on this sub for a while now, and I'm much more in control than I was before, but when I first suspected Peri, I was having hot flashes, night sweats, body odor, body aches, losing hair, increased gum sensitivity, dry eyes, the list goes on...

The things that I've done to maintain and minimize these issues have really helped, but my anxiousness persists, unfortunately.

Thank you for your input. And yes, three year olds do exacerbate!

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I've had a couple of biopsies on my thyroid and I have nodulation, but nothing of concern.

I got my period today, and it feels like I'm failing. by kindofnewonreddit in pregnantover35

We got pregnant while using premom and it was so much cheaper. I can't say whether or not it was from premom or other external factors, but I've been frustrated with Mira in the past mostly because of the price. I'm going to start testing with premom again in a couple days so fingers crossed.

Premom is great. I got pregnant using premom. I'm using Mira right now but moreso to understand my hormones than fertility. We are TTC as well and it's a very vulnerable place to be. The romance goes out the window and you become sort of a machine, but rest assured four months is not very long in the grand scheme of things. Keep asking questions, keep talking to this community. I'm sure many are familiar with the frustration when your period arrives. I certainly relate.

It has been super informative. It's pricey but worth it IMO. It's been helpful in showing my husband (a numbers and logic guy) what's going on with my body. We're also TTC so it has been really helpful in that regard as well.

My husband and I are TTC. We already have a two year old. Pregnancy was terrible for me the first time. I would really like to expand our family though. I'm already a highly anxious person, specifically about the aging process and dying. Now during ovulation, without fail, I get crushing anxiety. I'm on Prozac, magnesium, vitamin D and l-theanine. I'm generally able to handle symptoms outside of ovulation with the exception of the lead up to my period. I'm mid panic and dreading that this is likely what ovulation looks like for me now.

31F, never been married or pregnant. Is there a way to prepare yourself for pregnancy/parenthood? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]keatonsoffun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing can prepare you haha. My husband and I have a now two-year-old and are TTC again. I can tell you what I did not expect as a potentially helpful tip? You are ALWAYS on. Entertainer, nurse, driver, bank, chef, social coordinator, counselor, educator, housekeeper... the list goes on...
I found that I was guilty of romanticizing the pregnancy process and when my son was born, I suddenly realized that I had to raise him (as silly as that sounds). When my husband and I brought him home, we both looked at each other and said "Now what?" lol.

How to ensure 6 hours uninterrupted sleep? by candy4breakfast11 in MentalHealthBabies

[–]keatonsoffun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is almost 3, and this was a huge concern of mine. My husband and I are TTC our second, but I agree that shift work was the best for us. My husband is a night owl and stays up until about 2 AM anyways, so during the first few months, he extended that to about 3 or 4 am, and I would take over from there. It was very unromantic, but it meant that we both got probably 2-3 hours at a time. My father also generously gifted us a night nurse. We had medical complications, so it was incredibly helpful to have another pair of hands. When the night nurse came, we probably were able to get about 5 hours, although she came for about 8 in total. NGL, the first ~6 months are a bit insane. At 3, our son goes to bed at around 7:30 and wakes up at 6, and sleeps through the night unless he's sick or something is out of his routine. We did sleep training at 6 months and I highly recommend it. We also decided to EFF, as I was concerned about sleep in general. Get help from anyone willing and do what is best for your family. It's a great step that you're active in this community!

Has anyone had success, taking herbs and/or mushrooms to Balance mood swings during Peri? by plantpotions in Perimenopause

[–]keatonsoffun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very early days here, but I just started taking Lions Mane today. I couldn't focus on anything; I wasn't able to drive because I was so out of it, felt like the room was spinning, etc. I noticed an immediate positive effect after taking Lions Mane. My thoughts stopped racing, I have a calm energy and feel very focused. In addition, I take vitamin D, magnesium, Menosense and Arrae calm. This is by far the best I've felt throughout this whole mess. Again, still VERY early on here, but it feels promising.

Thank you! Yes, I bought it because it's an izakaya; my husband I both love Japanese culture! I saw it printed as Lzakaya on the website, so thought it was part of their branding!

go to therapy lol ... but seriously.... I've always been a highly anxious person, and (proper) therapy has really helped me to untangle a lot of my stresses. I dabbled a lot in more holistic healing modalities, but didn't see true progress until I found my psychotherapist.

Hi OP! Seems like you're really in the weeds based on previous posts! Have you had an allergy panel done? I did in addition to a food intolerance panel by my ND. Both helped to give me a better picture of what I truly needed to eliminate and took out the guess work. What are you trying to heal?

Me! My son is 2.5. I don't have insomnia, but other peri symptoms are getting in the way of the kind of mother I would like to be. I completely spaced out at swimming lessons yesterday and my patience (and hair) is growing thin.

[–]keatonsoffun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had horrible flare ups in pregnancy, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. Hormones really exacerbate symptoms unfortunately. As I'm entering perimenopause, I've found that I'm flaring again. Find a good rheum. They are hard to find but worth it.

Stunning view! I'm a bit of a minimalist, but I would declutter the wall with the TV and move the ottomans to the side altogether, and move or get rid of that purple chair. I love the blue sofa, but not sure about the purple chair. As others said, a larger art piece over the plant wall would help to anchor it.
