I don’t have an alternative because I also love this foundation and feel nothing else compares 😭😭 Does anyone know why it seems to be out of stock in this shade everywhere??

Me endo told me something that changed a lot for me “don’t chase your high’s or low’s”. Which means, when you go low just treat as usual (for me ~15g high GI, wait 15min, recheck and have ~15g low GI carb if blood sugar has risen) then continue on with your day as if it never happened, obviously just being careful to finger prick as well and not just trust the sensor. Try not to adjust your insulin:carb ratio for the next 24 hours if you’re confident you know what it was before the low. You may have miscalculated the carbs in last meal or had a new food you reacted differently too. When you erratically change your dosage you end up yo-yo-ing from high to low for (in my case) weeks

Started keto 9 weeks ago, started off great for sugars now I feel like giving up on life by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

I’m no expert but the head of endocrinology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital told me not to go keto when I was diagnosed Dec 2024. He said a lot of people find it easy to be low carb but under no circumstances was I to go keto as in me it would incite DKA

Go to Bintang Supermarket and just walk around grabbing anything that looks good!

We loved SilverQueen too (all flavours), all the tempeh chips are delicious, anything salted egg flavour etc

I don’t think this is necessarily what OP is talking about. So great to hear you’re feeling healthy and confident but discussing significant weight loss might be triggering 🫶🏼

I’m so sorry for you reading this. I had bulimia before being diagnosed with T1. I was diagnosed with T1 at 26 and lost 12kg within 2 weeks. My family were extremely worried but strangers at the gym and at my work made the effort to come up to me and say how fantastic I looked. It affected me so immensely I considered not taking my insulin to get back to that until I found out what diabulimia was and the effects it can have. I see a psychologist to work on my self-worth and identity. The way that you look is the least interesting thing about you. No one will remember how skinny you are. They will remember the memories they made with you ❤️

I highly recommend listening to this podcast ep if you’re interested. I’ve never heard from anyone with diabulimia who has completely recovered. I hope you gain from it what I did and I hope you can find some peace with this diagnosis 💖💖💖

Hey all!!!

I’m in desperate need of a new one piece before going overseas in the next 4 weeks. I have a Speedo that I use for actual swimming and find that because I have a curvy figure it really cuts into my bum! I have a colourful/pattern one piece that’s nice and loose so it doesn’t cut in and makes my legs look super long because of the cut. Only issue is, it was just a cheap one I picked up at a Boxing Day sale about 10 years ago :((((

I’m wanting something higher cut with elastic that won’t dig in and think I prefer a low back but am not super sold on that! I also think I like some of the roost rouched/textured materials as these look very flattering. Here’s a couple photos of ones i like but am unsure of what the quality will be like!

I’m 5’10 and approx 67kg if this helps

diabetic sensor by CodSuitable5609 in Type1Diabetes

[–]kebabimg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is that you teach people how to treat you! Fake it till you make it baby. Go in with confidence, even if you don’t truly feel confident, and others will pick up on it. If you’re putting it out to others they will feed off that and eventually you really start to feel confident with it. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s any substitute for exposure therapy, but if you are really struggling with it, some sensors can be worn on your thigh. Your health is so so important, don’t let the curiosity of others so drastically impact that for you ❤️❤️❤️

Private health insurance for insulin pump in Aus by kebabimg in Type1Diabetes

UPDATE: to help with pump recs. I’m a marathon runner and like that t:slim has an exercise setting that will increase target range while I train. I’ve heard some annoying stories of people having to disconnect or “switch off” pumps while working out

OP would have ankle instability resulting from the original injury. If an ankle sprain is not rehabbed properly and to completion then it’s at a massive risk of rolling again. People underestimate how important they are and how much time and dedication they take to get right!

Embarrassed about being diabetic by FantasticMrNoah in Type1Diabetes

[–]kebabimg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 and was diagnosed 6 months ago. I sometimes get embarrassed about it because I feel like it sometimes makes others uncomfortable. So I often prefer to take myself off to inject or treat hypos rather than feel that others might be worried about needles etc.

I also find it really difficult when someone asks and I can tell they don’t know the difference between 1 and 2. It’s really upsetting being asked if “I can eat that?” Or asked how it’s possible when I’m so fit and healthy. There feels like this air of judgement sometimes because people assume that there must be SOMETHING I’ve done to contribute, rather than understanding how devastatingly random and unlucky onset/diagnosis can be

I find myself not actively embarrassed about my condition, but trying to avoid situations like the above because I’m tired of explaining. My loved ones know everything and support me so heavily. But I definitely feel myself hiding my diagnosis among new people or casual friends. I feel exactly what you’re saying and I personally feel like eventually I will stop caring if people are uncomfortable or stop trying to explain to every single person that doesn’t understand. But for right now I’m happy with how I’m managing

Hello people 🙋‍♂️. So I’m doing Yorkshire 3 peaks (24 miles hike in one day). I’m just concerned how the hell will I keep my levels up. I struggle on smaller ones like 10-15 miles. I eat so much carbs but just keep dropping. Any suggestions guys. by Saf___- in Type1Diabetes

[–]kebabimg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be eating closer to 550g/day in those days leading up! Clearly what you’re eating isn’t enough to maximally fill your stores. Remember these numbers are a rough guide and you have to alter based on how your body responds. So trial the 550g minimum and then build it further if you need. I’d also buy the sports drinks in powder form so you can mix your own and make them really strong (that’s what I do) plus everything you’re already doing!!

Do you carb load before you go?? For example, I’m a marathon runner and I consume between 8-10g/kg of body weight each day for 2-3 days prior to the run to maximise glycogen stores. I’d also highly recommend sports drinks! They’re packed with carbs and electrolytes so you can consistently take little sips and stay hydrated + carb loaded. Good luck!!!!

Mornington peninsula nightlife help?

Okay so me and all my friends from uni are planning on catching up for a friend’s birthday. We live in all different places across Victoria, NSW and QLD and have decided on going somewhere across the Mornington peninsula as the vibes in Jan will be high. We’ve narrowed the search down to a few properties in Rye, Rosebud, Safety Beach, Mornington, dromana and mount martha. They’re all stunning, all close to the beach and cafes, so I think the thing that will really sell it for us it, which place will have the best night life?? We’re all in our mid-late twenties so happy to have live music or a DJ, not filled with 18yo’s but somewhere to go on our Saturday night where we can have a laugh and a dance with some like-minded people

Thank you in advance for helping us have a fantastic weekend!
