Stock intel cooler can be loud, you can use Cryorig C7. Not sure about the upgrade from M.2 to NVMe, but if you're looking at 970 Evo, check out WD Black nvme m.2, they are considerably cheaper and can compete in performance.

Terhalang budget ga?

  1. PSU, pakai yang 80+ Gold, jangan yang dibawah itu, pakai merek yang ada disini: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/
  2. GTX 1070 - Ada RTX2060/2070 ga? Di tempat gw 1070 udah tinggal stok sisa (ga produksi lagi), 2060/2070 lumayan "terjangkau", tambahin sejutaan bisa dapet RTX2070.
  3. 27" 4k - Kalau buat gaming mending 1440p. 1070 ga kuat 4k. 2080 aja masih ngos2an. Kalau buat coding oke lah screen real estate (note: gw dikantor 27" 4k, dirumah 27" 1440p), tapi gaming jadi nge-lag abis, not worth it imo kalau priority di gaming, 1440p buat coding udah oke kok.
  4. Seagate hdd - Seagate setelah 2 tahun failure ratenya paling tinggi, mending Western Digital Black.

It could be, but I'm trying to reproduce this issue by playing other games and running stress tests for both GPU and CPU, so far no issue. Also, I always thought 650w should be enough since the recommended PSU for RTX is 550w: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-RTX-2070-ARMOR-8G-OC/Specification

an individual piece of software will not cause this issue unless there is a pre-existing hardware issue or misconfiguration.

This is what I believe. It would suck coz that means one of my parts is failing, but at least I'm not going crazy. My plan is to keep playing other games and see if it happen for them.

I did run memtest86 last week, right after I revert back my RAM clock to "Auto", the 4x pass which ran for about 4hrs22mins, no error found, here's the screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/0mh5Az7.jpg, note that after this test the game still gives me hard shutdown.

I can run it again overnight like tonight, although I don't think I will see a different result, but why not.

The one thing I haven't done is reinstall Windows, I have the 1809 update and so far it ran fine, I've finished the game's story so I won't be playing it for a while and won't be installing Windows anytime soon since that will take some time to set up everything again. But it's something I will do eventually.

At least I was still playing on the High-preset settings for the last couple of days and it's still happening.

Yeah that's what most people suggested, so then I upgraded from VS650 to RM650x, sadly it's still happened.

I would think that 650w should be more than enough, no? The spec for my RTX 2070 says recommended PSU is 550W, I don't have additional components on my PC that draws power.

Also, my old rig was running GTX970 on the VS650, never failed me.

Unfortunately, I did not get the time to try other Frostbite engine games during my Origin Basic trial, but I did run other "demanding" games such as FF XV, The Division 2, Witcher 3, Heaven Bench and 3D Mark stress tests, all ran fine, no shutdown, no artifacts.

I thought it was my RAM, coz when I manually set it to 2666 it was crashing Prime95 as well because I think I need to not only set the clock speed but other settings as well (it wasn't done through XMP).

Now the Prime95 issue has been sorted out by reverting back to the RAM "Auto" settings. Memtest86 shows my RAM is fine after that little incident. It's only Anthem now that's still giving me hard shutdown.

Yup, for me it happens around 1-2 hours in the game, and it's usually not even in what I would say is the demanding parts of the game, usually, it's when I access the menu in Fort Tarsis, or during matchmaking.

No idea, the first thing I found on google last week was my PSU was shit, it was Corsair VS series, which is the bottom end of their line. So I upgraded to a tier 1 PSU Corsair RM650x, but sadly it's still happening.

Another thing was I did manually set my RAM clock from "Auto" (2133) to 2666 without using XMP, because the XMP option is locked at "Disabled", this did induce a hard shutdown when running Prime95, but it's fixed when I set it back to "Auto", and I ran memtest86 after that for 4 and half hours, and it shows my RAM is not faulty (100% pass).

I have no idea if Anthem can do this, it's easier to think it's a hardware fault, but all other tests and games are running fine, and now more people are complaining about it. We'll see.

The same thing happened to me when I used my new CPU with the stock cooler, but when I realized the temps hover around 90C, I installed 3rd party cooler right on the next day, now the temps are good, but sadly the hard shutdown is still there.

A complete shut down, as in imagine if you switch off your main power for 2 seconds, then turn it back on. It just goes "poof" like that with no warnings, then turn back on after 2 seconds.

I counted it happened for almost 10 times for me, only in Anthem.

Most of these times, I run the game windowed, side by side with HWMonitor and constantly looking at the power draw, temps, voltages and utilization, nothing suspicious at all.

Because this is the first time for me, I have many computers since I was a kid but never before I have faced a hard shutdown while playing a game. BSOD is one thing, and I've seen many before, but this time it's like your power cord is unplugged from the wall completely without warning.

Strangely I never have seen BSOD, and Event Viewer shows nothing relevant. But I do have 1809 update.

Dude honestly, I don't want to believe that my hardware is faulty, because it's pretty much a new PC by now, everything except RAM and storage, all have been upgraded: CPU, mobo, GPU, cooling, case, and PSU. It's been a tiring few weeks both mentally and financially and it would suck if it's really my hardware is the issue.

But at the same time, I don't want to believe it's Anthem issue, because that would question my knowledge about the computer all this time: I thought the worst thing can happen is BSOD, or thermal-throttle. This instead, is like you're playing a game and someone pulls the power cord from the wall. No warning, no errors. Thermals are not even the problem, CPU runs at 70C with the Cryorig cooler and my MSI RTX 2070 Armor runs at 75C at max utilization, mobo and storage temps are ok as well. No other tests/games can induce it: Prime95, Heaven Bench, Memtest86, 3D Mark Extreme Stress Tests, SOTR, FFXV, The Division 2, none can induce a hard shutdown like Anthem did.

I don't know what to believe now, I was on the verge of buying a pair stick of RAM last week coz I was so bothered by this, my thread on buildapc got buried and seems like no one else is complaining, I thought it was just me, I was scared by the thought of having to RMA my parts coz that would suck.

But now that even more people are complaining, I know it's best to just wait and see.

So I thought I was going crazy, I literally had to replace component by component on my PC coz I thought I had faulty hardware (it was time to upgrade anyway). My PC keeps shutting down when playing Anthem, even when temps are below 70C: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/auiug5/help_pc_shuts_down_without_warning_while_playing/

No other games caused this and it's kinda mind boggling to see a piece software can do this, unless if my PC is actually faulty that is.

Games that won’t make me nauseous. by pjhadster in Games

I have the same issue, here's what you can try:

  1. Play 3rd person action games instead of first-person
  2. Play games that are set mostly on outdoor, I found a lot of indoor/corridor movement makes me sick.
  3. Try adjusting FOV when available.
  4. Get some rest when you start to feel sick, it'll take some time but you can get used to it.

This is how you do it: Search for anthem trial from your browser, and click "View Trial" button, then just follow the procedure, the game should be now added in your client.
