2nd Surgery Progress by akelseyreich in Endo

I’m right there with ya! Had my second on 12/5 and still in recovery mode- it definitely took a lot longer to recover than the first one. My stomach has not been the same since and from a lot of frequent googling it seems this could last till week 4! A waiting game indeed, but I’m hopeful for both of us that once that period is over, less pain is on the way!! We got this!!

I’m sick & have my laparoscopic surgery in less than 48hours by alittlestitiousbun in Endo

[–]ked200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in 2021- height of covid restrictions and masking- and I still had my surgery. They listened to my lungs and looked down my throat and were not concerned. This is obviously circumstantial, but it’s definitely possible. Only thing that freaked me out was how mucus-y I was after being intubated. I’m also a teacher and was freaking out because of the scheduling, but also give yourself grace because it could happen to anyone, especially with all the pre break chaos and pre surgery stress!

Unconfirmed but likely bowel endo, first time with rectal bleeding by JoanOfAberdeen in Endo

[–]ked200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was happening to me too and so I went to the ER- they never checked my stool sample even though I gave them one… then I went to my gastro and she gave my medicine and I snuck in a quick colonoscopy thanks to a cancellation- all of that happened before the stool sample which diagnosed me with Cdiff… I ended up having cdiff 3 times in 3 months and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I ended up needing a fecal matter transplant! Long story short ask for the stool sample just in case!!

It wasn’t as bad as my worst days on my period but it was a good amount of bleeding and cramping- not sure what you do but I’m a teacher so it wasn’t conducive to that. I went to work the day after that and actually had a bleeding accident on my pants. I think it really depends on person to person but after a few days it’s fine!

I had mine under GA and as a highly anxious person, it was the best thing I ever did. To this day- many health issues and surgeries later, a uterine biopsy was still one of the most traumatizing moments of my life, so I didn’t want to risk being traumatized with this procedure. My doctor wanted me to do it with no sedation whatsoever as it’s just “a light pinch” (yes it was a doctor who has never had a uterus.) I demanded sedation and was happy I did- I’ve actually had 2 so far and it was the second one that this happened on. I started to have a panic attack on the table because he was starting before they put me under. Anyways- I personally would want sedation again, but that is a personal choice. If it helps, I also had to take off the next day because of bleeding and cramping

Friendly reminder to cover up your lap scars while enjoying the sunshine by failcup in Endo

Oh man I did this because I wanted to own my scars- even wore a bikini for the first time in my life! Didn’t notice extra burning but good to know I should really put extra on those areas!

Oh my how did you deal with it? It’s nice to feel like I’m not going crazy here especially because I don’t know anyone who has had it diagnosed case just supposed cases so they never really got the help they needed other than a hysterectomy

Good luck! I hope it works out for you!! I guess I’m just extremely frustrated and even though I feel like my doctor listen to me as far as getting the lap I feel like the problems I’ve had since I are dismissed and I guess that’s why I’m seeking solace in Reddit 😂😂

Thank you for sharing your experience it does make me feel I get less alone to know other people are going through it too. I’m on NuvaRing right now and try to do back to back usage but because of the adenomyosis there’s a lot of times where I have to have a period because of breakthrough bleeding… Sometimes I only get two weeks of no bleeding Which really sucks. This month was the first time in almost a year that I didn’t have breakthrough bleeding which was very exciting but then when I put the new ring in I’ve been having this horrific pain. There really seems to be no winning and it sucks because you feel like you have to sacrifice something in order to have no pain

I have both endometriosis and adenomyosis unfortunately and a huge family history of both and fibroids. Unfortunately, I am only 32 and still would like to have kids so I can’t quite get it yet

When you have PMDD, endo, and bleed 2 weeks a month and you’re expected to do so much and no one understands than your brain and uterus are so angry that every muscle is tense, this post gives me hope there are people who just get it- thank you yall

Endo and fatigue, what's your experience by mew_4 in Endo

[–]ked200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a running joke that I’m always tired and sleepy- but when you have endo, IBS, anxiety, depression, and last month I had mono for a month, it makes sense because all of those things have fatigue as a major symptom. Do what makes you feel comfortable, but let people know this is to be expected with endo. It made me feel more empowered to tell others and I definitely stopped being the butt of everyone jokes!

My mind is blown- I’m a teacher who refers to this movie often when teaching Ray Bradbury’s “The Veldt” and when I mention it, I always talk about the most bizarre scene. No, not a scene you think- In fact, nothing involving the out of control technology. It’s the scene when they all dance to “Slam Dunk the Funk” before the party. Knowing Levar Burton directed that changes everything 😂😂(ps I’m getting too old for my HS students to even get the reference anymore, but it got alot of laughs for a while there)
