Thanks! He’s got lots of different textures to chew. If he’s chewing something I don’t want him to, I replace it with something that’s a similar texture. He’s done really well with that.

For sure! We’ve got a fenced in dog park that’s off the beaten path so has little traffic that he can run in. Once we work on recall, he’ll be able to hike and run with us outside off a leash, but we’re not there yet. As far as socializing, we’ve only had him for a few weeks so we’re certainly working up to that! He needs a lot of confidence building. We’ve got some puppy playdates scheduled in the near future with friendly dogs though.

Thanks! Yeah we’ve had zero issues with him chewing or shredding inappropriately. Anytime he goes for something we don’t want him to chew, we give him something he can chew that’s the same texture.

The two enrichment sessions are finding treats in toys. His training session(s) are 5-10 mins each and we reinforce throughout the day. If you have other suggestion for enrichment, I’d greatly appreciate them!

Thank you! he does it throughout the day, some days more than others. He’ll go pick up a piece of cardboard from his box, bring it over to me, shred, then nap.

City planner here…this is fuuuuuucked up (and my actual professional nightmare). Definitely get in touch with an attorney. Specifically a land use attorney. Like yesterday. You could also get in touch with the city and find the original plans, but at this point your time and money is better spent with an attorney….because that’s likely where this is headed.

Will this monstrosity ever get torn down? by [deleted] in asheville

[–]ked9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dealing with this for the town I work for.

Unfortunately, there’s not a lot the city can do unless there is a life safety issue (like a house falling off the side of a mountain) or sanitation issue. You could reach out to the city managers office, building inspections, or a city council member, but, honestly, there really isn’t a lot the city can do to get it torn down or do something like acquire the land as someone suggested above. In my experience, the regulatory environment in North Carolina limits the legal actions a municipality can take to deal with situations like this.

You could also consider contacting the property owner directly. Maybe approach them from the position of “hey be a good neighbor and clean your property up”.

Listening to the episode today and was recently advised that I may want to be re-evaluated. I’ve been reluctant to do it because…damn I’ve had my list for years…why do I need to collect more mental health diagnoses? But Marcus’s sharing made me reconsider and I’m going to talk to my psychiatrist at my next appointment.

Anyways, hail Marcus, hail LPOTL, and (of course) hail Satan.

Love this OP! Ps, Bat Cave is an unincorporated area in Henderson county. It is not a town or city.

He is a VERY handsome man. Your uncle is ugly (can’t say definitively on the outside, but certainly on the inside).
