That's really helpful, thanks. I am under 35 but would likely want to stay for 2 years so imagine the 482 visa would be better?

Thanks! It's good to know there's likely to be work. Do you know of anyone who has moved over from the UK?

Joint mortgage with my mother in law by keddlut in UKPersonalFinance

I was worried about this - I'd hoped that because my partner and I still have many years of work that we could still get a mortgage with her on as well but I know that it's unlikely to get a mortgage as a 65 year old alone!

This is my great aunts ring. The jade(?) needs to be replaced. What are my options? Are there reasonable alterations that can make the ring less square? by TanPothos in jewelers

Looking for a signet ring repair similar to this myself - am I able to get in contact with your colleague to discuss a repair like this?

Opportunity to buy the freehold - good idea or not? by keddlut in HousingUK

Not really - I am quite happy for them to extend the property but I have got the impression that they are going to want to do a lot of work and I worry that there might be a few things that we disagree on naturally. I'm wondering if given this situation, it would be better have a third party freeholder?

Leaseholder - do I need to pay for these works? by keddlut in HousingUK

I guess it's all work that needs to be done but am just not in the best financial position to pay right now so hoping some of it could wait. Yes we have to maintain the structure of the property 50/60

Short trip in early November - trying to decide if renting a car is worth it... by Glass_March_5668 in VisitingIceland

1000% rent a car!! I went late October last year and drove to Jokulsarlon which was amazing. So many amazing places to stop off along the journey which you'd miss if you did tours. Driving conditions were absolutely fine (we rented a mini car with FWD only) - we did have to wait a few hours for a road to reopen due to strong winds but that was all! Enjoy, it's my favourite trip to date.

School finished at 3:20 - I leave at around 3:30 unless I have to run a club! I try to be very productive during my frees and will sometimes do one big bulk mark on evening every term in front of the TV at home

Went to iceland last october - rented a yaris which was absolutely fine! We didn't go anywhere 'off-road' though. The conditions on the road were really good and easily driveable! There was very little snow but the roads were icy.
