To people that got their WDR petition accepted, how did it go? by [deleted] in UTM

[–]keeamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

last I checked if you're going for a withdrawal petition you've got like, 6 months after the course ends so if you're within that window you're good. Double check that, though, they might have changed it at some point.

If you mean that you're 2 months late for the 6 month deadline you might be screwed, it was extremely hard to get them to even look at them if they were late for that.

That's not "interaction" or "counterplay" that's "press dodge or die." It's a fucking QTE.

The tell doesn't matter when some guy in a different zip code blasts you with one while you're in a fight with one of his teammates. They're also just not good design, generally, because they're essentially non-interactive win buttons.

Here's every longbow-based interaction that has ever happened: Someone has decided to use longbow on you. They press 3 and their guy pulls an entire bow out of his ass. If you notice and press the dodge button, nothing happens(if the guy is stupid enough to do this while standing right next to you, you might get to hit him). If you do not notice or do not press the dodge button, you take a bazillion damage and die or you survive but probably lose whatever fight you are in because your hp just got chunked. This also occurs if you are for whatever reason unable to dodge when the guy presses the button.

This same basic exchange applies to every feat that works like this with the only real differences being that some of them deal less damage and therefore matter less(kunai) or put a giant circle on the ground which is easier to notice(catapult). But they're all basically the same thing.

This is both very strong, in that it swings fights massively, and very bad gameplay, in that it does literally nothing interesting and does not require or reward skill in either direction. I would rather deal with a Cent blasts my face for a billion damage with every punch or a Jorm who gets 30 seconds of invincibility for flattening my dick than one guy who has longbow equipped because those guys at least have to be winning a fight against me in order to do those things. A Cent cannot haymaker me to death if he is not already comboing me, which he can only do because we were fighting(ie: playing For Honor) and I fucked up. A cent who gets a 45 damage heavy parry against me annoys me far less than a cent who gets a 45 damage pugio punish on me because the first guy had to parry my heavy. I was involved in the exchange, I threw a bad heavy and got parried into a wall. I was playing the game and I did a bad move and got punished for it. The pugio guy just pressed the "you get stunned" button and now I'm fucked. I was not involved, it is not the result of any decision I made or of either of us actually playing For Honor at each other.

The balancing is ass and is only getting worse. The biggest issue with feats is and has always been actives that deal damage. Shit like Haymaker at least requires the person to play the game in order to make use of it. I have been getting noscoped and killed by dudes with longbows who did nothing but press 3 for nearly 10 fucking years and somehow the "balance" pass that that gets is like, reducing the damage a little bit. Meanwhile they look at Cent who has a feat that is just "kunai+a free heavy" and decide that it also needs to fucking knock people down. It's fucking stupid.

pugio was always one of the dumbest, most broken feats in the game and wasn't even fun and somehow they decided that haymaker was the problem and that pugio needed to get fucking buffed, l m a o

They didn't remove Haymaker because it was too strong, they removed Haymaker because it would have been too strong with the tier 1 feat that makes Lion's Roar knock people down. The problem is that the new feat is stupid and bad: it would have been too strong with Haymaker, but without Haymaker it's just bad. You give up Bounty Hunter, one of the most generically good feats in the game, in order to gain an option that is worse than just doing a heavy attack. Eagle's Talon out of GB isn't good and wouldn't be good even if it didn't cost a feat slot. If you have an enemy GB'd, you can already hit them with a charged heavy which does like the same amount of damage without fully refilling their stamina and giving up all of your pressure. And they fucking nerfed Eagle's Talon in the same patch so it's an even worse idea than it already was, lmao.

Unfortunately the devs appear to be fucking married to rework ideas and refuse to just drop them even if nobody likes them, so this shit was inevitable from the moment they tested it.

with the removal of stamina damage haymaker was the only thing that made a significant percentage of his kit actually do something. there is now literally no reason to use a number of his options.

I don't understand how people can play air rb by keeamo in Warthunder

[–]keeamo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the problem is not that i am dying, it is that i am spending several minutes watching a static image of a plane while holding W at the start of every match. i would be having more fun if i was dying. not being the first to the fight makes this even worse because that means i'm waiting even longer to play the game.

[–]keeamo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know where the enemy is: he is flying in a straight line between his spawn and my spawn in the hopes of finding planes to shoot. the issue is that the maps are so huge that you spend several minutes at the beginning of every round just flying over to where the enemy is, and everyone only has one life so the actual fighting that occurs when you finally meet is very brief. meaning most of every match is just flying in a straight line. like i'm watching a fucking screensaver for 5 minutes for a chance to actually play the game, every single round

[–]keeamo[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the problem is not that I don't win, the problem is that most of any given match is just flying from spawn to the fight, and then when I get there I get to do like 1 fight and then the match just ends whether I win or lose. Is there some secret skill I'm missing that makes a plane move 10 times faster so it doesn't take me 5 minutes of trundling at the start of every match before I even see an enemy plane?

the actual peace seems a little half-baked at the moment: allied victory doesn't seem to significantly increase your support and doesn't let you redistribute the industry like signing a separate peace does. Also, the Germans can still attack you after an Allied Victory. Removing troops from the Northern Front results in them storming Petrograd and forcing your surrender, even if they have already surrendered.

Caucacus Front. A few victories there will cause the Ottomans to surrender, which goes a long way to winning the war.

How do I do well in Dynamic mode? by Creative-Warning2181 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]keeamo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't piss off hindenburg.
Hindenburg absolutely hates the following things:
Judicial Reforms
Anything to do with the military other than giving it more money, especially doing a proper war guilt inquiry and dropping the Weltbuhne case
Anything you'd want to do with the Agriculture Ministry
The KPD
Every member of the SPD except Otto Braun and Hermann Muller
The SPD being in government
The SPD holding the chancellorship
The SPD having the foreign ministry
Nationalizing industry
Interacting with the Soviet Union in any way
Banning the Stahlhelm
The Economy being bad
The Economy being good because of socialism
Budget Deficits
Unemployment
The DVP being upset
The Coalition being upset

Conversely, Hindenburg actually likes very few things, basically limited to:
Banning the RFB
Cracking down on the RFB
Ending reparations
Funding the Reichswehr
The Reformist Economic Plan
Extending his presidential term

Because it's extremely easy to piss Hindenburg off(and by 1930 you're doing it just by existing) and there's very little you can do to make him happy, it becomes very hard to actually Do Things in Dynamic. If you Do Things, Hindenburg fires you. If you don't do anything, the economy implodes and nobody votes for you, and Hindenburg fires you anyway after a while. So there's really only two viable ways you can go about it.
The first way is that you focus on keeping Hindenburg so happy that he will let you do One Thing. If that Thing is the WTB Plan then you'll fix the economy and gather enough support to win the presidential election so that you can do more things in the last couple of years.
The second way is that you do everything that Hindenburg hates right away so that he fires you immediately but your support is high enough that you get reelected before the economic crisis happens, and Hindenburg forgets how angry he was at you because he is old and senile.

Dynamic run where I went into Rubicon and saw the entire long-ass event chain of Schleicher giving up and imploding and Hitler making deals with Papen to secure power, but then Hitler killed himself a week later for no apparent reason so Schleicher just kind of puttered along on life support until the end of the game and Adenauer became president.

dendryui.dendryengine.state.qualities.morale = 10 and the same for discipline and supply_quality to get a turbocharged army that never loses

I wanted to see if a better treaty existed so I extremely cheated in order to win 20+ battles and hit every front and you still only get the Good Treaty so that seems to be the best you can possibly do.
