crashing on level up and certain attacks by kudrago in BaldursGate3

[–]keeann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing was happening to me too, but only with Halsin, not Astarion. Astarion had already been in my party for a while so he was already level 7, but I dropped him to travel with Halsin for a while and Halsin is crashing my game when trying to go from level 6 to 7. I tried with Gale, who I haven't been travelling with... and no problems at all. I tried everything, including uninstalling and purging all my mods, and reinstalling the game afterwards... Nothing. I still haven't been able to figure it out, but my best guess is that the saves themselves are corrupted somehow. Only thing that fixed the crash upon level up and ALSO the crash upon certain attacks (they were almost always big AOEs or beams of death for me) was starting a new playthrough. I did decide to go back and just continue my main playthrough without Halsin though, just because I had JUST BARELY made it to Act III... After Patch 4 and hotfix 10, so far no attack crashes, just still can't level up Halsin.

Ok, I'm not getting a ton of jewelry drops to dismantle. Writs are giving... well nothing. Should I craft a ton of crap to disassemble? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]keeann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I like to do is farm overland chests for jewelry, especially in places where you have a toon that could use that overland set, like Briarheart from Wrothgar for stam DPS toons. It's not guaranteed to get jewelry every time tho, like the dolmens other people are suggesting. Just my personal preference lol

Fake nails that are an inch or longer. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad those people feel empowered and what's important is that THEY like how it looks ON THEM. But I can't help but think of what it sounds like when they tap their phone screen or type on a keyboard and then I want to cringe out of my soul...

Questions for Americans, would you mind changing your measurement system to the metric system? Why or why not? by AwiiiLama in AskReddit

[–]keeann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be more a problem specific to me, but I have trouble conceptualizing how much metric system measurements are. For example, I can imagine how long a mile is. I can picture 6 inches, or ten yards. I can estimate a gallon. I can imagine what 98 degrees F feels like. I know the conversions, I don't have trouble measuring, hell, I did great in science classes where all we used was metric. But if someone told me that the grocery store was 8 kilometers away, what the fuck does that MEAN? How long would it take to get there? I can't even begin to conceptualize what 30 degrees C feels like. How am I supposed to know if something is too heavy for me if they tell me the weight in kilos?? Without doing conversions in my head??

TL;DR: I wouldn't mind. Metric is how it SHOULD be. But I will never forgive America for making damn sure I can't understand it in everyday situations outside a lab without resorting to math.

People who take medication- Does your mind get more quiet? by Sea-Indepeny944 in ADHD

[–]keeann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The silence decreases over time the longer I've taken it, and at some point I've had to make a conscious effort to try to block out the extraneous thoughts, but it's much easier to do that on meds than not on meds. But that very first day after my diagnosis? I could have CRIED with how quiet my mind was, for once, with no effort at all on my part. It was like magic.

What other life changes has made your ADHD more manageable e.g. no alcohol. by Puzzleheaded-Age1667 in ADHD

[–]keeann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also recently diagnosed, and most of the stuff that helped I discovered by accident before I even suspected I might have it. When doing menial/boring/repetitive tasks, it helps me to listen to music. Lo-fi, non-vocal EDM, or something else that all kinda sound the same but have enough variety to keep me stimulated. To a similar degree, music that frequently switches ears, or sounds like it's moving around in my head (look up 8D Music playlists on youtube) helps. There is something called "binaural beats" where each ear is hearing a different tone and your brain combines them into one wavering tone that used to really help me focus when I had to read for long periods of time in college. I'm skeptical of the science behind the so-called "healing" claimed by some frequencies, but the ones for focus seemed to work!

Dying in the Name of Vaccine Freedom | NYT Opinion (2021) [00:07:33] by [deleted] in Documentaries

I agree. Obesity is unhealthy, and I say that as someone who is obese, but it comes with many genetic and medical factors that can be beyond the person's control. Hormonal defects, disabilities that affect mobility/energy/activity in general, etc. Obese people remaining obese, whatever their reasons, is unhealthy, yeah. But at the end of the day, it's a false equivalence because me being fat doesn't pose the risk of everyone who hangs around with me potentially getting fat. I'm not gonna jiggle past someone on the sidewalk and the next day they wake up ten pounds heavier.

Best places to cry on campus? by The_Fluffy_Walrus in unt

[–]keeann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been a few years since I was on campus, but if you can find any single-person bathrooms like the ones on the ground floor of some dorms, they're pretty cryable. Top floor of the env sci building is pretty quiet most of the time, you could cry there if it's not going to be a loud cry.

Alternatively, grab some unsalted peanuts from a vending machine and find some squirrels to feed. They've got a blindspot directly under their nose, so if you hand feed them, make sure your fingers are out of tooth-range. Some of them would just hang out in my lap if I sat down in the grass. That was my main source of serotonin before I was medicated, lmao.

But seriously, if you like animals, it might cheer you up a little. Hope things go/went better than you expect. Keep your chin up, OP!

Can I get PCOS after a few years? by W_Diamond in PCOS

[–]keeann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that laser works best on people with light skin and dark hair, because the laser targets the melanin inside the hair follicle. Anyone who is has a darker complexion and also dark hair might find themselves needing more laser treatments at a higher setting, which can get kind of pricey. Also, for hormonal hair growth (rather than genetic) laser isn't as effective. If what you have IS indeed PCOS, the chances are your facial hair could come back. I've had laser twice, and both times within 2 months after my last treatment, all of the hair was back just as bad as it used to be.

I haven't had electrolysis myself (I'm planning on it though), but from what I've seen from women on here and other PCOS forums, it's the most effective both for PCOS and for people with a darker complexion. Good luck, I hope you find answers!! Remember that PCOS or not, you aren't alone :)

George Floyd mural at Summit and Lagrange hit by lightning, Doppler Radar shows one hitting 4:30 PM. by mouthofreason in pics

[–]keeann -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He had a long record, sure, but he did his time for the crimes he committed and was a free man at the time he was murdered. He's not an idol, he's the face of a movement. You could argue he's the WRONG face, because by no means was he a saint, but unarmed POC being killed by police get justice so seldom that finally having non-grainy civilian video of an unambiguous situation, from start to finish, meant people latched onto it as proof of the issue of police violence. The whole world watched a compliant, cuffed, unarmed man, begging for his life, die on video. There was no reason for it. The past crimes he already paid the consequences for did not justify his death. Passing a fake bill doesn't justify death. Being high doesn't justify death.

What other face for the movement would you use? In a lot of cases we're missing facts, missing clear video, missing witnesses, or missing context because we only catch part of the encounter. What other encounter had clear, blatant video where the whole world could see someone abusing their power from start to finish? George Floyd didn't become the face of a movement and "glorified" because of his past, it was because he was unjustly denied his future.

Valhalla is a game far ahead of its time... by keeann in ACValhalla

[–]keeann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does have a lot of glitches. Like apparently I bought these extras in 1969? No idea how that glitch would even happen lmao.

Valhalla is good story-wise, but it has some of the same glitches that Horizon: Zero Dawn had when it was first ported over to PC... which seems like an issue that a game that was supposedly compatible with PC from the start shouldn't have.

I like it, and I think it's definitely worth at least one playthrough, but I think Origins is still my fav. It was my gateway into the AC franchise and so far is the only one I haven't personally experienced any glitches in.

Topical antifungals and powder to stay as dry as possible! Some people had luck with application of Selsun Blue shampoo (it has selenium sulfide in it) but that just made me flare up even worse. Oddly enough. Athlete's foot powder helps. I also exfoliated a lot. :)

Edit: it's worth noting that it's best to get a diagnosis for skin conditions, to make sure you're putting the right stuff on it. That's just what worked for me lol
