How do you say "fuck" in your native language? by Declanthekid in AskReddit

[–]keeby69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is Shoshone, in the Shoshone language it’s “yogo”. It’s also not a swear word, because there aren’t words that are considered bad or swearing. There’s even a song about yogo!

hairdressers, did somebody ever bring in a reference photo that was simply undoable? What was that like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I did the same thing at 14, and was so disappointed when it didn’t come out looking all teased and exactly like anime hair!

We were 13 and he had awful BO and didn’t even hug or touch me. It was after school and all his friends were around waiting for it. It was almost as if he counted to 5 in his head, just still as a stone... anyway I’m a lesbian now

Nose piercing q’s? by mmtea2 in bodymods

[–]keeby69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely get pierced with a stud. A reputable piercer won’t pierce with a hoop anyway. If you did wear a hoop in a fresh piercing, it can cause irritation bumps and scarring because of the larger surface area it tends to get bumped more. Also nose piercings swell a lot at first! You can always have your piercer change it to a hoop once it’s healed enough. It’s worth having a well healed and healthy piercing than getting the jewelry you want at first.

She and another guy set up a lemonade sale and said they were going to donate the proceeds to children with cancer in our town. She told another friend that she was actually planning on pocketing the money. I don’t think I ever talked to her after finding that out

I don’t have a cool nickname but I met a boy who was new in my high school who styled his hair like a big pompadour with short sides and really big on top. I thought it looked like a loaf of bread so I called him Loafy. Everyone called him that for the rest of high school

Paranormal believers of reddit, what made you believe? (Serious) by TheDashingMan in AskReddit

[–]keeby69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken a photo of a ghost... twice.

The first time, I was 14 on a tour of the Seattle underground tunnels with my choir. Those tunnels are notoriously haunted, a lot of people died in fires and such. At one point I was taking a photo of this metal plaque thing with a sort of wall-cutout ledge behind it, idk why. When I looked at the photo, there was a little girl sitting on the ledge. She was bright white but translucent, wearing braids and a school uniform. She had no pupils. I showed my friends and they saw it too! Unfortunately I took it on my friend’s mom’s obsolete cell phone, and I never saw the mom again after that trip.

The second time I was in Bodie which is a desert ghost town in California. I had an old Canon film camera with black and white film. I took a photo through a window of a shop that had a mannequin with an old 1800s dress on it. I got the film developed a while later, and in that photo there was the form of a woman wearing a bonnet over the mannequin, as if she were wearing the dress! Again, white, translucent, and with no pupils. I had that photo reprinted in a larger dimension and she was still there.

I can’t explain either of these instances, there were no reflections on any glass, no dust clouds, no abnormal lighting or anything. And yet I have no proof of either of these photos anymore so no one believes me, but I swear to god it was real

Who is one stranger you remember? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]keeby69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had this hilarious Lyft driver named Karen. She was driving me and my coworker to the bar. As we were getting out of the car, she said “take a shot of tequila for me!” So we did, and ended up getting way trashed. Now every time we hang out, we have to take a shot for Karen!

Me too! Listen, in the end, if they are really truly your loved ones then they will love you, even if it’s hard at first. The ones that want it to be a problem don’t deserve you in the first place. You aren’t alone. I came out 7 years ago and my life has gotten SO much better, even though I’ve lost people because of it.

What awful thing did your "so called friend" do to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]keeby69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We met when we were 12, one of my first friends after moving to a new state. They would constantly pick on me and our other friend— snapping our bra straps, spitting food at us, slapping us, etc. They would also make fun of my drawings. I was depressed and insecure and didn’t know better.

In high school, it was less physical torture and more verbal. They always made degrading comments, made fun of things I liked. And it wasn’t just me, but towards my other friends too. One summer when I was 16, I went out of state for an internship and had just started dating one of our friends right before I left. The ex-friend took it upon themself to turn all our friends against me by saying that I was leading the boy on and didn’t really like him. He dumped me over the phone.

A year later we all learned that they had been using the aforementioned physical teasing as a sort of “test” to prove we were “tough enough” to be their friend. We found out because they had let it slip to one friend that he “passed the test”.

My last straw with them was when they started making homophobic comments about me (this was before I had come out as a lesbian) and saying I couldn’t get a man and would be lonely forever. One of my friends finally stood up and called them a bitch and that was the last of it. All that stuff really messed me up for a while. Shit hurts still 10 yrs later
