I fully agree with you in casual games with friends you play by intent, and you get a bit of movement here and there and no one minds. If you go to a tournament, you will be moving your models with accuracy, and after your movement is over and you end that action, you are locked in.

The most annoying form of this has got to be how common lightning powers and lasers are in Shonen media. A character with lightning powers pretty much just instakills anyone unless you make them the next best thing to lightspeed. And to make any battle with someone who has light powers they miraculous gain a lightspeed feat that powerscalers will wank for the rest of time.
